Your correct, the 757-300 aircraft will be bumped to something like 230 seats. Pre departure day boarding will however be offered to those willing to pay extra!

Edit: 234 will be the new total on the 300

I flew a new configured 757-300 a few weeks ago from SFO-ATL. All new in seat IFE. New galley lighting. 24/26/184 was the split. They crammed 10 more seats in by knocking out the aft portion of the 1st class galley. Something else too I'm sure, but not certain what.

This is spot on. I pay very close attention to the qualifiers I put in for a GS. If circumstances change for me, then I change the qualifier(s) or take the GS out. (Not that I ever get GS's anymore at my seniority...)

I can totally see how it would be very frustrating for a scheduler to waste his/her time calling people who have no intention of taking the trip. I think it's only fair that we limit our GS requests to something we are willing and able to fly.

Do not blame yourself for the system. As gloomy said, it's broken and you are just a part of it. Don't take potential premium trips out of your pocket because you are trying to help the broken system limp along. I searched the contract and failed to find the word fair.

Well, the end of July has come and gone, and August is drawing to a close. The periodic updates that were promised regarding the tablet device we are supposedly receiving have gone silent, and we are nearly halfway into the FAA validation timeline announced in May... does anyone know what the latest is with this debacle?

Related: do we get any corporate discount online at the MS store, aside from MS office on DL net?

There were some rumblings in the Northwest that MSFT was looking to back out of the deal over the summer.

This week heard it come full circle in Mecca. Possible cash out to exit the deal

Back this spring, MSFT had 300 software engineers tasked to do re writes as the Delta content couldn't be pushed.

Crickets on if that was successful.

Maybe we will get iPads if true. More likely an Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7.

It's a bit less altruistic than it sounds. Delta was contractually obligated to come to the table and at least discuss the flows. Further, had Delta decided to terminate the flows and no longer offer flowdown for us, the number of permitted 76-seat jets at DCI would immediately have been reduced by 35.

While Delta could have attempted to convince the new owners of CPZ and MSA to accept a flowdown from us with no corresponding flowup for them, such agreement would probably have been tough to come by.

I don't think the Mesaba flow had DL penalties for cancellation. The CPZ one would, because that's in the DL contract.

Some at CPZ think they own the flow in their contract, and while I'm sure its in there, canceling it tomorrow would only give them an impossible to win grievance with Trans States.

The "hammer" keeping the flow alive for the grandfathered pilots is the forced reduction of larger RJ's at DCI if the flow down for DL pilots is cancelled.

The Mesaba flow was more on the altruistic side, as that was graced into a sunset over a period of time. There is no top down flow to Mesaba (or whatever they're called this week) that I can recall.

Funny, I can load a virtual starbucks card with left over rupees in Mumbai to pay for a latte in ATL. I can take a picture anywhere in the world and have it appear on a litany of devices anywhere in the world with internet.
This is the technological hurdle that MSFT can't seem to figure out? How to do auto pushes when the devices are connected to wifi?
Something is not adding up, except that as was mentioned with the Nokia purchase and CEO changeout, MSFT seems to be less inclined to be in the tablet business than under Ballmer.

As I understand it, the "hammer" for keeping flow down alive was the same for CPZ and MSA in the JCBA. After the sale of both was announced in mid-2010, the resulting negotiations on our side resulted the "hammer" for keeping flow down to MSA being given up.

Could be wrong, though.

10% with Delta ID.

Have not tried using it, because typically one can find these MS Surface products on clearance with deep discounts.

I've little experience with the Surface 2, but have heard nothing but good things from those who have used it. I have a Pro 2 and absolutely love the thing. If nothing else, it makes a good compact Home Theater PC. In fact, used it last night to bring a neighbor's home theater to life.

For an EFB, I'd think the LTE version of the iPad Air would be hard to beat. If it is true we are ditching the Surface 2, then I hope they'll give a shot a buying those power covers. No need to carry a charger on a < 4 day.

Thanks Bar, I've got my eye on a 2 Pro, just waiting for the price to drop a bit more.
