Probably a PSA pilot dressed up as an Egl guy. AAG destroyed their "eagle" product. Whipsaw galore. |
Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

+1 Hopps gooooood - more hops, better! I live in beervana (PDX area) and am an unashamed IPA snob and hop head. Having said that, I have really enjoyed sampling the great local brews that are popping up all over the country (Monkeynaut, for example!). When I read this talk of Blue Moon, Bud Lite Lime, and kegs of Pacifico!!? I just have to shake my head ;) Torpedo and Rebel might be good, nationally available, options but when I'm on a layover, I make a point of trying the locals first. Seriously people, when you're stocking up for that BBQ try going local, if you can - you might be pleasantly surprised! |
Who said 40 captains displaced? At 10 capt per airplane or more there will be by next yr 80 plus capt displaced. Most of them are avg age 55. And what is funny is now they will displace the RD 777 guys who intern displace on down the line. This could be a huge ramifications to our group. You guys ***** about pilots staying till 65! Now when you have a chance to get them to leave early you don't want them too. Go figure...

Read my post more carefully. I'm against it only if its OUT of seniority.
And I'm not buying for one second your argument that displacing 747 captains is low cost. Especially if some of them will only be on the new equipment for a few months and then retire. Get real. Management doesn't "fully fund" anything out of the goodness of their hearts. They are offering to do it because it saves them money. Pilots will need to be trained into positions, either award or displacement as others retire. I don't think it matters to them which end of the list it comes from, and they have enough PWA latitude to absorb the excess until they do retire. I think an early out is of more benefit to us than the Co. |

This is the tip of the iceberg. Toss out seniority now and get ready for the parking of the rest of the whales and the majority of the 757/767 fleet. Be careful what you wish for. Jerry |

The about to retire pilots won't be affected by displacements, it's the more junior, younger in category, and between lowering the ALV and using the lower limits of the LCW as contractually allowed they can absorb quite a few pilots. Extend that to the 330 and 777 and there will be no waterfall MD. As more 330 arrive the ALV's work back up.

We keep hearing that early outs are "better for us" and displacements "won't cost the company much," but nobody has even attempted to show the math. I wonder why that is. SD initially suggested the early out. He wouldn't have done that unless it would save the company money. Obviously, there is a problem brewing for the company, or they wouldn't need to ask for this. That's the problem with the company's/DALPA's talking points here: they are completely devoid of logic and credibility. |

Displacements will come from the bottom of the whale list. Better go look at the seniority list for the bottom 25% on the whale most of these guys aren't to the 60 year mark yet.

Don't worry 95% of those being displaced are under 60.

So you are saying the company is just giving us a good deal out of the goodness of their hearts? Like forcing us in the cabin for rest on the A 330? Was that a victory too?
