Delta had zero obligation to honor the XJ flow once they were no longer owned by NWA. As an olive branch, Delta threw in a years worth of flows. They didn't even have to do that.
While Delta could have attempted to convince the new owners of CPZ and MSA to accept a flowdown from us with no corresponding flowup for them, such agreement would probably have been tough to come by. |

Most over there are terrific; just doing a critical job very well to keep Delta Air Lines moving. But a few (maybe one ... since moved to Crew Tracking BTW) is comically inept. There's only one I've heard stories about, but invariably it is the same one.[/youtube] |

It's a bit less altruistic than it sounds. Delta was contractually obligated to come to the table and at least discuss the flows. Further, had Delta decided to terminate the flows and no longer offer flowdown for us, the number of permitted 76-seat jets at DCI would immediately have been reduced by 35.

Well, the end of July has come and gone, and August is drawing to a close. The periodic updates that were promised regarding the tablet device we are supposedly receiving have gone silent, and we are nearly halfway into the FAA validation timeline announced in May... does anyone know what the latest is with this debacle?

There is a move to have more qualifiers like landings in, not just layovers, theatre specific, etc.
If you have an idea, send it to your reps, there is a SOT going on right now about this stuff. Easy things like Pref Qualifiers are generally easy to get a movement on. That said the company needs to actually pony up the $$ to make that happen. I don't see that happening any time soon. |
I heard a flight attendant is now running the tablet program after the pilot guy quit.
Does this mean the default wallpaper will consist of cat(s) in various stages of silliness? |

I agree. They are attempting to use rules on both sides of the fence to their advantage.
And, I never answer my phone as SF does. A big issue is the 1980's style grease board manual trip coverage we are still using. UAL and SWA both have apps/texting scheduling tools that help both the pilot group and the Co.
