When you really look at it, the mathematical and logical assumptions they make with the system make it totally impractical and unrealistic.
They can't actually tell who tried to comply with the time- they can't actually tell who hit the time b/c of speed assignments or vectoring, or who tried to comply and couldn't b/c of the same. Absolutely and completely a waste of money. Don't even get me started on the assumptions they make on the "money saved" figure. That number is a complete fallacy. As for the financial numbers, those are spit out by the program itself...... |

If every carrier going into said airport would use it, and ATC was linked in, then yes, it would make sense and save money. It is only looking at projected slots, our traffic, some DCI traffic, and gate availability. It could be an awesome tool, but it needs to more widespread use that ASA and DAL.

The company has put out several long articles on Atilla. They do get a metric on how many aircraft slots they recover. They know the exact time each aircraft crosses the RTA point. How many crews comply is somewhat irrelevent. You run Atilla on Day A and then you don't on Day B. With like weather and the same number of flights you can tell how many hold minutes aircraft experience and you know how many ramp holdout minutes each aircraft has. You simply compare the results. They have put out numbers several times in publications to the pilots. They are either lying or it does make for some improvement. If there was no improvement why would they bother.
Again, it should take you a max of 30 seconds to comply. Why so much *****ing about that? |

That's like asking why does a fisherman smells like fish. If there's one thing a pilot is good at it's *****ing about things. |

No short calls or trips for those short timers. That 0300 short call looks ugly.

Tell me about it. Thank God my phone didn't ring at 0300 this morning. So far I'm not liking the "new" DAL reserve system. Trying to figure out roughly where you stand in the que is impossible. I need the secret decoder ring they forgot to issue me with Icrew.

I've heard SOC might be delayed and if that is the case it would be April before they could have SOC done. Don't know why just the RUMORS I've heard.
