New K Now

It would be cool if all 3 hot FAs "buddy bid" and ended up on some of my flights.

Unfortunately, I'm far more likely to get the "buddy bidding" male buttdarts team.

The ATL ILS 10, and PRM ILS 10 both have a note saying " localizer unuseable for rollout guidance." Hence , Jepp only lists Cat IIIA minima instead of Cat IIIB, which requires Rollout guidance. Delta no longer recognizes this distinction, but the new terms being phased in are CatIII with rollout/ without rollout...which have different rvr requirements.

The kicker: our AM, p.3-14, under Autoland Considerations prohibits autoland if Jepp has a restictive note regarding the localizer, or glideslope.

So, our AM and Jepp conflict with the notam that is issued with our flight release , currently allowing Cat II to Rwy 10......iIthink this notam did not keep up with the phase of flight change to require autoland for Cat II

Any LCA's out there ?

I'm not an LCA... but until I hear differently (in writing), I will go with the clear verbage in "Autoland Considerations" which prohibits autoland if there is a restrictive note on the localizer or glideslope.

I think that would break a pilot manlove boundary to buddy bid. :)

80,

Not "bid buddy" like a program to fly with another pilot all the time, which I agree is a violation of the manlove boundry.

But, "bid buddy" as in a program that helps to keep us from screwing up and helps us pick up nice trips.

We used to have something on the Northside like it called crew control.

If it's not out there, it wouldn't surprise me. I only heard it from one preson.

Dude,

I thought I was the only one with that kind of "luck." Time for me to go back to international. It's getting depressing.

NewK,

The only programs I've heard of to assist with our PBS bidding system are Easybid and the the bidding tool that Navtec itself puts out. I've always used the easybid. It's pretty simple and free to download the program. Check with Flightline software to see if you need access to their system to download bid packages. I think you do and it's pretty cheap. If you find anything out about a different program let me know. I'd be interested in looking at it.

I wholeheartedly recommend easybid. Navtech's crap is aweful and flightline should sue them for a very poor imitation software.

Well the paycuts, loss of pension, and 401K massacre have caused a good portion of us to have second jobs. I kinda wish the laptops guys would have been working on closing documents for one of their loans they were doing to make ends meet. Having a second job has absolutely caused the focus of alot of airline pilots to move to their second jobs while this job becomes secondary. That has got to effect safety in some way IMO.

I, too, highly recommend easybid. It's a great way to see exactly what trips you are bidding for when you put in a paramater (sp?).

I wasn't going to say anything about the Navtec product because I downloaded it and, being very "technologically challenged," I couldn't figure out how to enter a bid choice. So it's just sitting on the computer until I look at it again...........
