At the bottom of the Tech Ops page on DeltaNet there is a memo regarding the up coming Asia changes. Would someone read that and explain the wide body comments. Thx

Does it take fewer guys to service a 777 or 330 than a Whale in Manila? Kind of implies we're cutting service there doesn't it......

Crazy talk

Not true. Under true vacation sell-back, the company knew before vacation bidding even began which vacations were being sold. Those vacations no longer counted toward the staffing formula, and the company had the better part of a year to manage the reduced staffing requirement to their benefit.

Today, the company must staff for 100% of all vacations. The only negative effect on staffing we see when a pilot WSs more due to his vacation is fewer reserve and/or GS usage. The negative effect on staffing of this is MUCH less than vacation sell-back.

CDO's exist because we permit Delta to outsource our flying and those pilots have agreed to do them.

If we fix our scope hypocrisy, killing CDO's would not even be a question.
Man, we get it. You don't like what's going on at the regionals. Enough already. 2015 is about our contract, not a regional contract. Let those men and women handle their own business while we concentrate on ours.

So I am sitting at the gate reading the contract survey document from the union, look up to see a MD90 taxi by on the ramp with two fire trucks following it, look back down and continue laughing at the survey.

Life is entertaining.

The NGO-MNL portion is stopping.

There will no longer be two 744s overnight there.

Just one of whatever does the NRT-MNL flight.

I'm trying to get a buddy pass rider on a Frankfurt flight and while looking at loads to Europe, I noticed DAL has one 330 a day on JFK to CDG and AF has one 330....plus three 777s and one 380. Total of 5 very big jets. Delta codeshares on all of these. Talk about lack of good scope on our international JVs!

maybe our experts on our JVs can answer this... do all of Delta iron going to Europe count when figuring our JV percentage? And more importantly, does all of Air France flying to the US, North America and all the Americas count? i know they fly to about 15 destinations in the US but they also fly to a handful of cities in Canada, Mexico and the rest of Latin America. Please tell me that if ALL our Europe flying counts, ALL their America flying does too.

Is it me, or does this survey look almost identical to our last survey? I've only lerused it a couple of times and just started it.....but I wish I has the previous one to compare it to.

Much of it does look familiar, which is good as I still have similar aspirations as last time, only more so. Come to think of it, the last one didn't look all that different to the one we saw in 1999.

Actually, I had the opposite impression. The last survey seemed well put together and made me feel like my input mattered. This one seems poorly put together, poorly worded and seems like it is steering us somewhere I don't want to go.

Idk, but either way, from my viewpoint, my opinion counts for squat.
