If it were just DALPA, the answer would be that there is no such motivation.

However, there's Herndon. Their motivations are quite different.

I believe that asking about both is to get ahead of the possibility that they might come up in negotiations by having a sense of where the pilot group is on these issues from the start.

Given that Herndon also benefits more the more we make, I don't see any motivation there either not to achieve the most that is possible.

From the DPA survey.

Over 94% of our pilots feel International Scope

Needs further improvements and restrictions.

I do give them credit for not asking about freezes in their survey.

I think asking about CDOs was a mistake or straight up manipulation. Hoping the former.

Jerry
DALPA asked in 2012 and we didn't get pay banding. The DPA said pilots want pay banding for a survey over the same period. Since we didn't get okay banding one assumption might be that the pilots who participated in the DALPA survey didn't want it. The DPA pilots who participated did. You are the one saying we are getting pay banding. You write for the DPA. If 50% of the pilots filled out the DALPA survey and didn't want it and the DPA claims to have the other half of the pilots and publicly says the pilots want pay banding then who should we believe. The confidential survey that in 2012 didn't get us pay banding or your public one that does ask for pay banding. At this point if we get pay banding I am going to blame you personally because you've been running your mouth about it. No one else has.

Assuming the DPA survey continues to show scope is far down on the list of priorities, how do you see that impacting ALPA's ability to hold the line on this when discussing with management?

Examples please. I'd like some solid, empirical evidence that "showing our hand" has a benefit.

Change my perspective. I want ways to improve my checking account, get more days off, and enhance our contract to the maximum extent possible. The method is immaterial, if there's a better way I'd like to know it.

Any guesses on when the AE results will come out? I'm guessing close of business tomorrow.

How long did the last one take? It was bigger and was out in two days, I think.
