I think it's intentionally left out, so you can do what you need to make the operation work. It'd be silly to lock us into a number that prevented us from hitting the head, going to the gate to fetch release 3, etc.

I try to get there before boarding, because sometimes you need to get a pack on, or the the ext power falls off, etc. I've been there as late as 10 prior and pushed on time.

The 12th man thing is getting played out. It's like that thing some schools are doing when their home team gets a first down where the PA guys says "another XXX" and the stadium says "FIRST DOWN!" If you started it, it's yours. Everybody else... do something original.

How is that done? Do they go to Bubbaville and have a lineup? Do the FAs wear numbers? What is interesting is that one charter I did was an NBA team, and half the FAs were not of the type that many on here like to describe as the ones that will save our industry. IOW... not Hooters models. Since sports guys are GUYS for the most part.. why aren't all the chosen ones Hooters models? Kinda puts the whole theory about the necessity for drop dead gorgeous FAs to rest now doesn't it?

No they don't. My wife is an FA and they just have to be charter qualified. In fact she is doing one tomorrow that she picked up out of open time. Two of the FA's are new hires on her trip.

I think that some NFL teams do get to hand pick their FA's, however it is NOT the players doing the picking. I would imagine the players wives, coaches and coaches wives would rather them not be Hooter's types as this is just a distraction.

Just looked it up on deltanet. There are open charters meaning anyone charter qualified can fly them, then there are dedicated sports team charters where the same flight attendants only fly for that team.

Correct. I flew a St. Louis Cardinals charter recently, and all the F/As were dedicated, hand-picked Cardinals gals. Notice how I didn't say "guys and gals?" They fly every Cardinals charter flight for the entire season.

They were not all Hooters-style hotties, but they all were attractive, hard-working, (in fact, incredibly hard-working) and knew all the players and staff by name, and had great rapport with them.

I think the hand-picked FAs are just for professional sports teams. It does not apply to college teams, mil charters, or any other charter we have (once I flew a charter for State Farm Insurance to Bermuda, for example--regular FAs).

Agreed.

That is not the impression I got when I attended the recent survey roadshow. It sounds as though they're very much wanting to know what we think. Donatelli was practically begging guys to fill out the survey, regardless of how they feel on any given issue.

He says they even went so far as to hold webinars to take pilot input on what the survey should ask. First I've seen something like that.
