Another classic Payton comeback, but I would have liked to have seen what he could have done in the OT.

Too bad it's decided by the flip of a coin.

(watching Carolina walk all over Pittsburgh right now)
Actually the NFL OT rules were (in my opinion) improved a couple of years ago. Rather than just simple sudden death, it goes like this:

1. If a team's first possession is a TD or safety (i.e. the defense caused the safety) then they win immediately. The thinking is that they have "earned" the victory.

2. If a team did not score a TD on their first possession, the game is not over. The other team gets a chance. They get the ball back the same way they would in regulation: via turnover, punt reception, or kickoff return in the case of a FG.

3. If each team has had a possession and the score is tied (either neither scored, or both scored a FG) then the next score wins.

So in the case with the Broncos, because the Seahawks marched down the field and "earned" a TD (versus a short drive followed by a long FG) they won the game. All the Broncos had to do was limit the Hawks to a FG and the OT period would have gone on.

It is a bit complicated, and not as entertaining as college OT, but I like it a bit better than the old sudden death.

I did the Seahawks charter after their first game last year. The flight attendants loved him and the rest of the team. As in, they went overboard in singing their praises. (Professional, nice, well-mannered, etc.)

Maybe it's a LAX/SEA thing?

Wow, the FAs loved a sports team? Every charter I've ever flown were full of fawning FAs. News flash! I wouldn't take that to the bank.

Don't get me wrong, I'm no USC fan. I live in LA and I hate the Lakers. Pete left his wife and was shacking up with a student female intern in Santa Monica which is one of the reasons why he left USC. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I've seen that before.

Personally, I still haven't gotten over the Fail Mary, the replacement refs, and Pete masturbating in the end zone. Cost the Packers home field advantage that year in the playoffs.

Finally, the whole "12th man" thing actually was created by Texas A&M, not the Sea Hawk fans. I layover in SEA about 3 times a month, love it. But its a hollow emotion. They won't repeat because they're just a little too full of themselves.

You said we ended up with the best work rules, the best pay rates, etc. That was wrong then and it's wrong now. The chart clearly shows that.

I'm looking at the contract comparison that was just put out by DALPA. You were wrong about your bankruptcy assertion, now we're moving on to how wrong you are about inferring we have the best contract in the industry.

That was your exact statements back before C2012 and it always fascintated me. You said we couldn't talk about SWA because they have a different business model, and we couldn't talk about UPS and FDX because they don't compete in our industry. What's fascinating is that you made these statements at a time when you held a senior level position in the MEC administration. I can't imagine why you would do that. You were supposed to be making our case...not management's case. Yet you consistently stated these ridiculous arguments that hurt the negotiating position of the pilots you were supposed to be working for. Very strange.

Really? Please let us know why they are useless in today's environment.

FDX is not only "in our industry", but they are also in our union. You know, the "airline pilots" assossiciation. SWA is in our industry too. They are a direct competitor in many cities as a matter of fact. ALPA would be comparing DAL to these all day long if they both didn't have significantly better contracts than DAL. Much easier to sell the TA when you leave the top two out.

Regarding the survey comments from all, there is a lot of apathy regarding ALPA's willingness to take its own members input. I am very worried about C15 being another wash. Obviously, I would vote no for that. Something needs to change. But, we have been saying that for a while now.

I understand about the Fail Mary. Truthfully, I think it was a bad call. The Packers may not have have gotten home field advantage but at least they didn't get cheated out of a possible Super Bowl win in 2005 by bad calls from the referees!

As far as the 12th man goes...................you're just jealous!!!

As far as a repeat goes, I think they have a better chance than a lot of teams. Care to make a little wager? Say $50.00 to the Delta Pilots Charitable Fund?

I lost interest and went to bed before Pitt came back to kick Carolina's arse, up until then it was a pretty lame battle of field goal kickers. (6-3) and after suffering through the Patsies equally lame game earlier, I just couldn't take it any more.

What happened in the second half? Cam get injured or picked off or...?

I understand the rules, I just don't agree with them, especially THIS rule. The team who first gets the ball hasn't 'earned' squat, until they have STOPPED the other team from scoring when THEY get a chance.

Under this rule, they have -no chance- if the coin flip doesn't go their way and the other team scores TD on their first possession.

It's lame. Both teams should have a possession.

SEA obviously couldn't stop the Broncos with only 56 seconds and no timeouts, or they wouldn't have been tied in the first place.

The teams hand select the FAs for the charters. Do the math...
