Default 23K

Looking for some guidance. In Europe on a 4 day. The plane inbound cnx due to maintenance. Now my trip is 5 days. I backed up trips and on my day 5 I was suppose to go back to Europe on a 3 day.

Scheduling dropped my 3 day per 23K but now my monthly schedule and time card shows I've lost the pay from the dropped trip. Tried reading the contract but was bogged down with recovery scenarios.

Anyone know if I've lost that pay? Yes, I'll call scheduling when I get back but curious for now.

Thanks...

Default Bidding in months with CQ

First time through CQ.

Two days of CQ and 5 days of CQ Golden Days in a bid period, no vacation in that month.

1. If I bid and get awarded a line for that period, will PBS build a line (or attempt to) and leave the CQ Golden Days open, or were those days only guaranteed not to have CQ scheduled?

2. Same question if I bid or get awarded reserve in that month. Are they like extra X-days where reserve cannot be assigned?

No you are not going to lose the pay. Look on your time card for the date the trip was supposed to start. On that date under "Rot Nbr" it should say 23K and then have the value of the trip under both the "Pay Time" and "Credit" columns. If not, give it a day or two to let them figure it out, then call them.

If you don't bid them off specifically as a line holder or reserve in your monthly bid, you can be awarded/assigned a trip over them. You should not get CQ over them.

You can sit reserve over those days and be assigned a trip, just not CQ. They are NOT extra X days.

Thanks, Denny. That's what I thought but couldn't find it in black and white.

Thanks Denny! The whole trip disappeared + no 23K notation from my time card and I was a bit surprised from that. Thanks again...

Your second take on it is a better one, IMHO.
Your first step is to call Skeds. If they do not explain it to your liking or pay you then you call DALPA.

Just so there is no confusion your CQ training should be awarded and posted before you bid. You should have placed a bid for when you wanted to go and sim times. The training bid will be awarded by the 5th. You bid your line knowing your training days. The value of those training days will be factored into your line award for bidding purposes only. After the initial line award training pay becomes pay no credit.

No bidpacks backdoor-able yet...

So, EFB apps to use on layover... I'm SURE someone smart like BB has put Nook, Kindle, and/or Netflix on that thing. Come on fellas, share the love. Am I being paranoid by not wanting to log into this stuff with a Microsoft account (which I don't want)? There HAS to be a way to use nook/kindle/netflix on this dang surface RT without being forced to use a microsoft account and let them "combine" all your stuff (thereby surely dikking it all up on your other nook/kindle/android/apple devices!!).

Or am I just going to have to consider this surface device a total brick when I step out of the cockpit?
Thx

Sailingfun, thank you too. Cool.

So, when I know the CQ dates, the CQ Golden Days become irrelevant (won't affect line/reserve assignments) and I'll have a better idea how to bid that month. I'm finally starting to see the logic behind how things flow. In the beginning it seemed to be a bunch of unrelated days/times/dates.
