Also spoke with ALPA (contracts and insurance extensions) and both have been very helpful. I run out of sick leave in 2 weeks so will find out how it all works in short order.

ALPA med is also assisting and is fully engaged on getting the FAA paperwork done.
Either way, whether it is DPMA or TD, the onus in on the applicant which in my humble opinion is wrong. Imagine you being in a critical car accident and not shoulder surgery. Now the process is left up to the family to be sure income continues whilst you recovery in an induced coma. Granted, maybe a little over the top, but my point is, there are easier ways to do this.

Regarding ALPA med and our own Delta Doctor, both are EXCELLENT resources. We are extremely lucky to have them both! Also, in my past contact with the folks at Harvey Watt they are very professional and efficient.

Don't misunderstand my angst. It is not against our current programs. But what frustrates me is those that believe this is the best we can do. I just think we can do better.

Stay well!! LLAP!!

Good Ole LH who has the scheds in his back pocket, always getting the choicest charters, OOB GS's, etc. He averages about 20-24 working days a month.

Which is great, but who wants to do all the work for someone else?
All that work? One phone call to insure the contract is enforced?

We have actually been fairly well staffed all month. Started the month with every day over the reserves required. There were very few GS's other then Valentine's Day until the last few days. JFK had a mini meltdown yesterday.

Is your head turning to mush? Who said that? I don't recognize you.

The word of the day today is Pre-vert.

The definition of this word is: when a new hire flies to BKK for a little R&R, but wants to jumpseat in order to cover his tracks and stay below the radar, but doesn't know how it's done and then asks how to do it on here, that new hire is a ___________.

I know of whom you speak. i don't think he has scheduling in his back pocket...he just has no life. He literally checks open time five minutes prior to the PCS runs...every time. He actually was known to complain when we added the 2200 PCS run, because "now I have to stay up till 10pm every night."

He has publicly stated that he would fly 365 days a year if the FARs and contract allowed. He will undoubtedly go into a deep depression when he retires (because he knows no life other than this) and will probably die a week later. Oh well, at least his family will get a good payout.

Guys and girls,

Todd's only $738 away from his goal. Spread the word in the cockpits. If you are on here and haven't donated, please reconsider.

On day one of systems class for the MD-88, Billy Bob, having only flown Boeings previously was heard to exclaim, "What in the hell kind of pre-vertion is this?"
