I can eagerly agree with the many ways that Republicans have failed to live up to expectations. Why is it so hard for Democrats? I conclude that liberalism is more about emotion.

While I am a Chicagoan -- a Southsider, with is even more pertinent to our future discussion, I am more a student of U.S. history.

Because of that, I can defend just about every President (there are some exceptions.)

Political party doesn't really matter to history. So, for those who cling to them now, and base their decisions and votes based on who has a D, or an R next to their name, either way, it's still about emotion.

It's exactly why Huntsman didn't win the Republican nomination and his pretty daughter isn't First Daughter -- or whatever she would be called. Emotion.

Conservatism, liberalism, and emotion? It flows both ways.

History will tell you though, that it's usually compromise, somewhere down the middle of the road, that keeps this country moving forward.

Have you noticed that there are NO hot liberal chicks?

Some might be hot if they weren't always so mad.

So...according to my profit sharing check Delta thinks I'll make $14,100 this year. I am on new hire pay but that seems a bit low...

Well...you could demand more, but that's not a strategy.

Welcome to the bigs.

Precisely. Which is why you should, if you choose, read my books chronologically.

BTW, I'm a former Democrat, turned Republican, now Independent, if it matters. I'm pretty much as middle of the road as you can get. I've been extreme on both sides. Marched in protests against nuclear weapons during my college years, carried the nuclear football 18 years later. Flew in wars for commanders in chiefs I respected, and some I didn't.

I was raised as the son of an Air Force officer from a family of Democrats. I was completely unaffected as a military pilot until my White House assignment. You'll get the gist.

Now, I stand for our military and the threats we face. And our industry. Politics bores the **** out of me. I'm very sensitive to the outcomes however.

Middle of the road and outcomes?

The methodology is explained on the website. It took your Jan - Jun income, doubled it, then paid 5%. For new hires or anyone else with lopsidedly low income though June, this makes for a small payment. After the 75% to the 401(k) and taxes, I netted $16.94. Told the wife I'll pick up the movie tickets for our date night, but popcorn's on her....
