You guys are starting to ruin this string. STOP with the politics! No one wants to come to this string about DELTA and read this crap. Take it somewhere else. Plenty of boards out there to talk about it. Some of you are the same guys that didn't want this thread closed earlier this month......not helping the situation much with this.

Freaking idiots. Speaking of which, is there any latest and greatest about Delta? I heard they are not doing the glass cockpit upgrade to the M88. And they opening a 717 base in NYC. And my start date is next Monday. And I am betting on a 717 to NYC because my social is pretty low. Ha. |

I know. I can't believe a thread titled Latest and Greatest about Delta has nothing but idiots thinking they know what they are talking about with regards to politics and war. I am relatively new here, but can't posters be warned or banned if they continue to post off topic and ruin this thread and this message board??? That's the way we do it on the other two boards I frequent.

Alfa's put a lot of money in my pocket. You've undercut, high timed with guys on furlough, and typed. Pre bankruptcy M88 was $238. Post bankruptcy $138....over $100k per year hit. Ten years later $200....my old pre bankruptcy widebody FO rate. I've lost over 1 million real dollars under Moak, not counting loss of pension and terrible work rule changes. ALPA talks the talk, but never seems to deliver.... For example we will hold the line at 70 seats...Moak brings us a 76 seat TA. 4/8/3/3 no way...way! Oh let's hear it....Alfa....we'll it could have been worse without Moakie.... Delta turned there corner after the NW merge and our gains since then have been pathetic. Guys...prepare yourself to be underwhelmed on the next TA. Also prepare yourself for the DALPA sponsored fearfest if you don't vote Yes....It's in their worn and tattered playbook. |

You have your history kind of screwed up. The big paycut and work rule changes were all pre Moak.
I watched Moak speak to the pilots at the Cobb Galleria and Georgia Convention Center...his words "we will hold the line at 70 seats." I except to be sold a bill of goods from our Company during negotiations...not DALPA... I walked away and will never volunteer under the leadership of a self serving liar. |

I'll vote no like I did in 2012 if I don't think it's in my best interest, and that we could and should do better. But until the membership as a whole, or at least a majority, is willing to say "No" to any offer that doesn't meet the standard, it won't matter. If the first offer is 'good enough', then don't ever complain. Not on here, not on the line, not to your buddies. Asking for more than what they are willing to give is going to mean protracted negotiations, so just accept that as a fact. It's going to mean that we will have a target on our backs before and after they are done. If the membership as a whole is willing to put up with that, then I think we can achieve a good contract. The place to start is the survey. Fill it out. Make your wishes known. If the negotiating committee comes back waiving a limp piece of paper saying 'peace...in our time', then grab your zippo and show them what you think of that. C2K wasn't achieved in a quiet, happy atmosphere, I'm sad to say. Also, I'm not saying C2K was the end all/be all of contracts. It wasn't. It lacked scope protections and didn't address our looming pension problem. But we did fight hard for it, and we were the envy of the industry, for a while. Those W2's were wonderful. I'd like to see us get back to somewhere near there, considering the record profits we are making and the compensation levels at the top tier of mahogany row. The picture of Uncle Sam pointing at "YOU" is how we get that done. Ignore the noise and the fear mongering. It will start soon. If we don't play nice, we may not be featured on as many jetway posters or TV ads. There will be press quotes and AP stories, and letters to the editor about how we are going to wreck the company, and are greedy. Emirates will blacken the skies with A380's and Southwest will terk er jerbs. We will have to chop up and burn CE Wollman's desk for heat in the winter. The 50 seat RJ's will rise from the beer can factory and return as a zombie fleet. Don't rise to the bait. Just quietly do your job like the professional you are. And don't underestimate RA. He's the real deal. If you're going to go all in, it had better not be a bluff. Give MD his marching orders and hold him accountable for getting it done. Vote yes only when you are completely satisfied that you are getting what you want. It's really that simple. |

Just reviewing the 2015 Enrollment Handbook, They are really pushing the HSAs accounts and left out the DPMP option. I know that I am one of the few that uses the contactual Delta Pilots Medical Plan, but would like to see a apples to apples comparison.
