We'll go into a real war with ISIS, just as soon as ISIS wipes out the northern Kurdish strongholds, or topples Assad, or both.

Don't sell yourself short. You've spouted plenty of baloney.

Am I the only one uncomfortable having someone with alfaromeo's fringe leftism wield the amount of influence he apparently does over "our" "union" (and thus, our careers)?

p.s. alfaromeo...playing the "risked life for country" card here with so many of us veterans participating is pretty tacky.

So Alfa, which is it, occupied Palestine or Israel?

Well that's easy, the Israelis have all the guns so it's their land. The Israelis have the same rights to that land as the Shawnee Indians have the rights to the land I own. I have the guns on my side also so it's still my house. You can be damn sure that if the Chinese gave money and guns to the Shawnee so they could come take my land and force me to live in a tent in some other country, it would be a cold day in hell before I quit trying to get home. That is the other side of the coin and that is how many Palestinians view their situation; the Israelis have better lobbyists in the US Congress so they get the land.

Mods, may I respond?

Easy Ace, you're not the only one who risked you're life for your country. Doesn't make you any smarter, or more credible. Lots of us were in real fights, in real wars, and think your point of view is just plain wrong. Careful about taking credit for something based on "risking your life".

Well back off cowboy. I didn't take credit for anything. I was just pointing out the irony of getting a lecture on patriotism after I risked my life for my country. I don't need any lessons from Carl about love of country; or from you either. Careful about reading something into a statement that was never there.

Yes, actually reading real history is fringe leftism. What a tool.

No. You're not the only one uncomfortable with that. I've often wondered if a far leftist mentality isn't contributing to what we've seen with DALPA over the past 10 years.

You are so blinded by your ideological BS that you can't even appreciate the subtle irony of history. From the British perspective, the colonists were terrorists and traitors to the crown. From the colonists perspective, they were patriots freeing themselves of oppression.

Menachem Begin planned and ordered the bombing of the King David Hotel. General Curtis LeMay said himself that if the U.S. lost World War II he would have been tried as a war criminal for his fire bombing of Japanese cities.

They both won their wars and so they are heroes and not terrorists. The colonists won so George Washington is the father of our country and not a traitor to the British army. He came to fame serving as a Major in the British army in the French and Indian wars. He was rewarded by the crown with large swaths of what is now Ohio. From their viewpoint he was a traitor.

I guess I can try to spell it out more clearly for you. Your view of history depends upon where you sit. I know you are so wrapped up in ideological BS that you view the world through a soda straw. Open your mind and you will see there is whole big world out there; not just the little tidbits that cute blonde woman read to you from a teleprompter. (why are they all blonde ?)

Oh, and Carl I got my college education at the Air Force Academy, a known hotbed of left wing radicalism.

I'll be your huckleberry. I'll call your service and your time at USAFA and raise you one. Carl is correct. Me thinks you watch way too much MSNBC and rely on the HuffPo for your insight.

If the mods allow, give me a go.

Jimmy Carter graduated from Annapolis. So what's your point?

Your views seem to be right in line with his.

I don't think AlfaRomeo's views are "fringe leftism," at all. Thoughtful, researched, nuanced? Yes.

Not your typical black-and-white, "love it or leave it," bumpersticker jingos.
