You need to qualify that those people were applying to Endeavor. That's a different demographic.

Actually, they applied to Delta, and got the apply at 9E email. Our EtD guys are extremely qualified military commanders with thousands of hours. The willingness to allow 9E to die on the vine because they won't compromise is interesting.

That doesn't add up. Why did none of my military friends get told that?

DAL is hiring at historic levels and will soon increase that. The original stack of applicants were scored resume by resume. Stack 1 = super qualified, Stack 2 = pretty good, Stack 3. In less than one year we are going through stack 2. How will regionals function in two years? (Poorly, if at all.) What will be the quality, quantity and cultural fit of our applicants in 5 years?

Why would DAL let us become less efficient and increase the need for more pilots when they are aware of a quickly diminishing pilot pool? Not going to happen on this contract or the next.

Probably because you gave them advice on what to do, and Delta sent the email to everyone, our military EtD guys didn't know any better.

Flight Dispatch Release Acknowledgement (FDRA) Process
The Flight Dispatch Release Acknowledgement (FDRA) process is being revised to allow crews to complete the FDRA hand-off much earlier in the departure process. This change will allow ACS personnel to focus more attention on passenger accommodations and the proper flight close-out process during a high workload time by eliminating the requirement to visit the flight deck to retrieve the FDRA. The Captain is jointly responsible with the gate agent to ensure the proper completion of the FDRA and the collection of all signatures is accomplished. The ACS agent will not close the main cabin door until receipt of the FDRA and the required verbal confirmation by the Captain is obtained. An All Pilot Bulletin defining specific procedures will be published and distributed prior to implementation.

This is just another attempt to "Rush" us off the gate, and it's stupid.

Years ago, at American, my wife was working First Class on the DC-10. Agent's in a rush, wife says we can't go, agent closes the door.

No Pilots on board.

No Pilots on board.
Had an agent tell a former Southern captain she was in charge of the door and shut it. We sat for 2 hours. No fuel slip.

Miss those guys.

If they don't close the door until verbal confirmation is given, how does this prevent a cockpit visit?
