I wouldn't mess with it- that is company property and is subject to FAA certification.
Radar and such will be coming. This is just the opening round with the two basic apps to get the thing validated, then more stuff will be added. I for one will not be using the personal profile. |

I am with 80 on this... the Personal log on will save items to an SD card. but I shall not be using the surface for anything other than work. I just worked with an ALPA air safety guy. In the event of an incident, the NTSB will confiscate your surface and anything on it is fair game, personal file or not. |

Anyone else hear the rumor that we're not only not retiring the 757s at the rate they mentioned but we're also looking for 75's in the used market?

This is correct, the professional profile is locked down and controlled by IT.

I'm going to treat it like I do the lounge computers. |
Tablet Training
Question for those that have done the tablet training...
In the content locker, the training CD shows a method to open the same manual twice, having 2 separate pages of the same manual open on different tabs. I screwed around with that for several minutes and never could get it to work. Every time I "opened" a manual that was already open in a tab, it just took me back to the tab/page where I was. Anyone else figured this out? The example they were using was critical terrain routes where it would be nice to have the graphic and text on two different tabs to switch back and forth easily. |

Agreed. I wouldn't put anything on there that I don't want on an NTSB recap. That said, I've already loaded the Scheduling Reference Handbook, PCS guide and a few other pdf's that can come in handy.

My understanding is that any electronic device on the flight deck during an accident or incident, company issued or not is fair game. So what difference does it make? The UPS. 300 crew in BHM Had all items impounded by the FAA and NTSB and downloaded. I don't think this is new...... Anyone else know? |

Hey it is almost Christmas! Heard it from someone who should know that we were looking and that the 737-900s weren't doing quite the job the company wanted. Maybe it's just what I wanted to hear.
