Lady at bank tells me my salary doesn't justify the loan. This isn't a million dollar home...couple hundred grand. I'm a new hire, only been here 6 months after retiring from the military so naturally, the pay has been low. I tried to explain the hours and pay scale thing to them and they said that is all "projected earnings" and that my salary since retirement doesn't warrant a loan.

Anybody got any expertise or experience on how to work this thing? I was polite about it, but basically asked her..."if a guy who has retired from the military, with a monthly retirement check, no debt, and a job as a pilot at Delta airlines can't get a loan for a couple hundred grand... who is getting them then?"

You might want to check out wingsfinancial.com, or even the Delta Credit union. they both understand pilots, and Wings has been exceptionally good to me.

Went through this 2 years ago, same scenario. Went with a local small town bank with many military retirees in the area. Did jump through hoops a bit and showed them pay scales in the contract.
Also showed them TSP assets which more than covered the loan. You might just have to shop around for a small town bank.
Or find one that deals often with your builder or local builders. Not all banks do construction loans, so one that has relationships with builders may be best bet.

Try this guy. Have not used him but he used to be a former Delta pilot. Also former military.

Airbus Said to Near Delta Order Up to $13 Billion to Top Boeing - Bloomberg
This is the only article that give a clue as to when they would start being delivered, relating it to the delivery slots Emirates gave up. Does anyone know when they might start showing up on property in Delta paint?

So much for my "local politics" theory..still good news for the west coast and Delta's WB footprint for the near future.

Everyone on the 320 says 'Delta' stands for 'Don't Ever Leave The Airbus'..maybe they're right?!

Hope is

Now the next step is to get a common type rating with...all Airbus equipment.

Go to training twice in your career, once as a new hire on the A319-320-321 for domestic ops, and then a quick 'differences' course for the A330-350 and International ops.

Don't think Richard's -not- looking at that possibility, long term.

Our present fleet plan is a mess and costing Delta billions per year just in manning, reroutes, dead heading, training, retraining and spare parts. Both Pilots and Mechanics. Now that Delta is making money, it's time to clean up that mess.

Boeing really dropped the ball when they didn't make the 'new' 737's just like the 75-76-777's.

But at least they will still be able to sell them to South West...

I had a heck of a time getting logged on there last night and again this morning, trying to take care of my 2015 medical benefits.

The "Open Enrollment" wasn't open!

I finally got it done, but I had to wait until everyone else logged off and went to lunch.
