I didn't post the whole sentence. Here's the whole sentence from TWG 09-04:

"As a result, awards or assignments to any vacancies or surpluses posted prior to SOC will be restricted to pilots within their respective pre-merger fleets."

It's the date when the AE bid, with its vacancies or surpluses, is posted that is the bright line that determines when you can cross premerger lines, not the date of the awards or assignments, which typically happen a day or two after the bid closes.

Block heaters are so 1980's. Just get a garage.

It's not the date of the award or assignment, but rather the date the vacancies or surpluses were posted that matters.

Probably wont be a player, I'm guessing that the AE will be posted after SOC.

I agree, it is about the timing of SOC and then the AE.

Delta Cargo now accepting cargo in single operating system

November 9, 2009On Sunday, Delta Cargo began accepting cargo in a single operating system, the largest single milestone for the integration of Delta Cargo operations. NWA Cargo has been retired and Delta Cargo is now prepared for inventory cutover and the transition to a single operating certificate.
Starting Monday, calls to 800-DLCARGO are being routed to the Delta Cargo call centers in Atlanta and Minneapolis based on agent availability. Because some customers will continue to call 800-NWCARGO, the number will remain in operation temporarily so that customers enjoy continuity of service.
“No matter where the call comes from or what number the customer has called, agents in both Atlanta and Minneapolis are delivering premier service as they respond to our cargo customers’ needs,” said Neel Shah, v.p.- Delta Cargo. “Agents globally have been trained and briefed on new policies and procedures. Worldwide, customers have been experiencing a smooth transition.”
Employees throughout the system have been preparing for the cutover through multiple training courses to ensure customers will experience no service interruptions. Cargo Revenue Management, Product Development, eCommerce, Claims, Information Technology, and Operations worked closely with Corporate Credit, the Operations Control Center, Airport Customer Service, and other groups to ensure that the needs of employees and customers were met throughout the transition.
Employees across the company also will benefit from the changes. Employees of Delta and Delta’s wholly owned Delta Connection subsidiaries with at least one year of service will enjoy a 90% discount on freight charges for shipments carried within the U.S., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Since we might all be commuting soon, say after the SOC in the beginning of December and the AE posted shortly thereafter, and since we might see some numerous changes to bases and fleets, where do we stand on those possible new rules (HR 3371) that could require us to sign in 9 hours prior at your home base prior to a trip?

(2) STUDY- In conducting the study, the National Academy of Sciences shall consider–
(A) the prevalence of pilot commuting in the commercial air carrier industry, including the number and percentage of pilots who commute;
(B) information relating to commuting by pilots, including distances traveled, time zones crossed, time spent, and methods used;
(C) research on the impact of commuting on pilot fatigue, sleep, and circadian rhythms;
(D) commuting policies of commercial air carriers (including passenger and all-cargo air carriers), including pilot check-in requirements and sick leave and fatigue policies;
(E) post-conference materials from the Federal Aviation Administration’s June 2008 symposium entitled ‘Aviation Fatigue Management Symposium: Partnerships for Solutions’;
(F) Federal Aviation Administration and international policies and guidance regarding commuting; and
