They are direct translations of dispatch and landing.

Despegar - dispatch / takeoff
Aterrizar - to land / to the terrain

And is was a c-scale, however it was also over $100k a year at the 2nd to 3rd year mark. Not to mention our rotations were much more efficient. I can't remember how long it took to me get to that point once I returned from furlough. (C2K rates were a memory).
