This is what I've been telling you guys (I'm looking at you, jerry). Sick leave is what is on the company's radar.

Profit sharing changes and pay banding would be self starters from the unionoids (I can start saying that again since the same people have made their way back in...shocker) and don't come from the company.

Speaking of sick leave time, did you memorize that phrase I gave you?

Already submitted. Our aircraft need to have a 3-5 gallon fresh and clean water tank installed in the galley someplace (Purified water piped to the coffee makers), so that the premium coffee offered to our customers is beautiful, not poison.

Maybe they should start us on an hsa that we can save money like a 401k, let it pay for additional sick leave hours and builds otherwise it's ours for retirement. Sure guys would fly sick to save money but on the flip side just have little tolerance for that.

I mean for a new hire with 30 years left what would that be if they never touched it? Possibly $500k over 30 years? Allow guys to choose between that with fewer company paid leave hours but additional hsa money and the current system.

I made that up. Would that work or too left field?
The last thing I want to do is fly with guys who are sick and too cheap to call in...It is already bad enough because guys use sick time for other things, and then when they are sick they fly.. It would only get worse if Delta pays pilots to come to work sick instead of calling in. Paying for unused sick time is a big mistake.

Our older guys are getting older. Offer them medical coverage and an early retirement package and those numbers will get back to industry norm (where they get to bank their sick time).

I recall Sailing suggesting not long back that reps weren't pushing the idea of trading PS for pay increases, or at least questioning such reports. Well, the last two captains I've flown with (not ones for visiting online forums discussing airline stuff) said they heard the line from guys manning the ALPA table the past week repeatedly tout the line to the effect of "That pay is AT RISK COMPENSATION." This was just after the subject of PS came up...no prompting about ALPA reps required.

I for one am prepared to see that kind of stupid come out of our contract coordination.....errrrrrr negotiation with management. Which will receive a quick NO vote from this pilot. Well, ok, I'm a wh#re....I have my price: Unless it has a 100% rate increase and 5:15/day for vac & training.

Oh, and the last guy liked the galley coffee, so there's that.
