They target groups for yes votes just like last time. This message targeted at New hires.

They should tread carefully. Obviously the new hire FAs are signing union cards.

Results matter:

over 53% increase in the pay charts in 7 years

Personal results, my income received from DAL has increased by over 100% in the last 7 years, even when adjusting out longevity steps (and I stayed in the same seat that whole time).

If we see another 53% over the following 7 years and my pay doubles again without changing categories, I don't really care if ALPA sends out letters with nothing but dancing banana emoticons.
Copy, you currently feel you are more than adequately compensated for your level of professionalism and responsibility, and the companies profitability bears no impact on you. You should vote for a negative raise and start working full time at ALPA if you are not already doing that.

So what. Bankruptcy sucked, tell me something else new.

IMO, the more important portion is the 100% increase in actual income.... I always heard "a 50% paycut means you need 100% to make up for it.

I'm up 100%, and with as profitable is we are I can't wait to see how much more get can get.

Payrates are only one small piece of how our compensation is accrued, don't get caught with 3.B.2 myopia.

So how are you up 100%. Do you fly a lot of greenslips? I know that the rest of us haven't hit that mark at straight pay. I know a lot of guys that are so happy about their paychecks right now. Good for them. They fly extra days a month and their kids couldn't pick them out of a line up. That doesn't mean that we are back to making what we were over a decade ago, it just means there are opportunities to pick up extra cash if you so desire with the trade off of quality of life.

Where did I say ANYTHING like that?

I'm pulling well more than DOUBLE what I made 7 years ago, along with tons of QOL improvements... Wanting and working for yet another bevy of increases at that magnitude is not exactly "asking for a negative raise".

Thanks for your emotion, I like facts though.

I utilize the PWA. ADG, occasional GS, increased vac/trng, reroute rule improvements (and we still need a more fixes there), more DC (11% when I started, 15% now, increase in the PS payouts.

Many things really.

2012 939 hours of pay for 162 days of work
2014 1224 hours of pay for 169 days of work

Yes, I worked 7 more days in 2014 (they were optional obviously), but that can't account for 285 more hours!

They should tread carefully because many new hires are from former ALPA carriers... Which Lee Moak (ALPA National) really ticked off.

IMO ALPA is losing friends fast.

That is where the question when did you get hired comes into play. If you got hired in 07 and now are on 7-8 year pay and have more vacation then I get where you've seen huge jumps in pay compared to 7 years ago.

That is also who the Chairmans letter targeted:

On the first day of 2015, the Delta pilots achieved their eighth consecutive annual pay increase. Let’s think about that for a moment: If you were hired in 2007 or later (over 2000 of our pilots), every New Year’s Day has come with a pay raise. Your hourly pay rates have grown through annual percentage increases, and from longevity and seat or equipment changes.

Great what about the other 10,000 pilots on the list that are still crawling back after a furlough, bankruptcy, age 65 and a merger.

I don't have the extra vaca. yet. so it hasn't helped me. agreed that that part of the letter was aimed at my demographic.

I also pulled out the longevity raises regarding my increases and haven't moved up in fleets, so the letter doesn't hit me in that aspect.
