The 1700 number is not correct. The FAA has not even issued the Notice of proposed rule making but even if ALPA got every single thing they asked for in their proposal your only looking at one or two hundred jobs or so extra at Delta. Domestic pilots might end up working more days because of the longer layover and rest rules but in the end its not going to create that many jobs.

Work rule changes however in the 2012 contract could restore some of the several thousand jobs we lost to contractual changes. Some however may not be popular with pilots since they lower earnings potential and may not come to pass. Its short sided thinking but the way things are.

Ya know, so far I'm in a generous mood and don't have a real problem with Cutler. Yeah, about 1/2 of his interceptions are from where he forced it or apparantly thinks the other teams HUGE defensive linemen are Bears recievers. But the other 1/2 seem to be where his recievers cut off the route or fell down or didn't come back to the ball. Our best wide reciever is a great punt returner converted from a defensive back and he's short. The only thing we have in the passing game is a great tight end. But, teams have figured out how to cover him.

Anyway, as I type, the Broncos have lost again (to the Redskins!!), proving that we didn't really give anything up when we sent Orton to the Rockies. Any Bears fan will tell you that he always starts off hot, then fizzles around this time of year.

Oh well. I still have college football (I had a great day yesterday) and I think I'm now a Colts fan. I just need an NFC fan to take out the Vikings. :)

Sorry to hijack the thread with my football woes. I'll post something aviation related now....

With the rumor of the MOAB December AE, I think we shoud be grateful that we for once have some positive news, compared to where we could be. Things still look bad out there and I am happy that we have good rumors rolling out.

So, I won't complain that my football team sucks. :D

Noticed that payroll used all of my bank time. Paid me in excess of 80 hours to get it down to the minimum and didn't pay the associated premium pay. I wonder if they were told to do this to DAL-N pilots or if it was just an isolated clerical error.

DAL-N bank time is/was stored in dollars. DAL-S is stored in "hours."

Using it all up prior to 01 Jan saves them 3% because of the scheduled pay raise.

Just wondering if I missed something in the transition pay TWG notes.

In this strange alter universe NFL world 2009, I kind of like the Packers because I have what that Bret Favre guys did. It's ok. Watch out next year. :)

Yeah, I was a huge Favre fan for years. He brought me a lot of joy and good times. Turns out, he's an enormous ego-maniac who really could care less about anybody other than himself. I've got some buddies who are associated with the team. If/when the real story ever comes out, people will understand why GB decided to move on. 'Course, he's kicking some serious butt so far this year. Trust me, he'll implode at some point.

Second to none. EVER. Are there any Ole Miss grads here? I don't have any pics yet as one of my friends has to email 'em.. but it is mind boggling. (Did I mention that it was really fun except the game?)

I grew up in Oxford, and lived there from 4th - 10th grade...my mom still lives there. There's been a saying around a long time there at Ole Miss. "We may loose the game, but we WILL win the aftergame party". Even if you're not an Ole Miss fan, taking in a game there (if you can swing the tickets) is a sight to behold.
