Sounds like those extra 717s are going to happen... most for flying, a few for parts. DCI is going into major shrinkage mode due to staffing issues with mainline looking for lots more planes. I'm liking this trend. :)

You're just full of good news tonight, Clamp! (ref the 135/month on the other thread)

I aim to please. :) It's impressive how many people they are running through the schoolhouse.

From what I hear, the changed bid packs due to DCI kicking back hours are going to be a very routine thing from here on.

Giddyup! Now if they would put the layovers at my home airpatch back into my bidpacks and if we took the DCI flying too it would really make my life sweeter. Too much to ask...but I'm a pilot, so I do.

The only hub airport I see DCI shrinking at is ATL. It seems like DCI is growing into the mainline gates in DTW and MSP.

Perhaps this is a good time for dALPA to offer one-time TLV relief.... in return for permanent scope recapture (including Alaskan Airlines).

Not only that, I have personal proof of the change. At the airport I commute from, there were 2 oversold rj flights that got an equipment substitution for 2 737-900s. The equip sub happened the day of the flights. It caught the agents by surprise... And me too.

Old dal wouldn't have done that. At least not that quickly. Me likeeey.

Your 401Ks are going to confiscated by the Government. Better off investing in lead, brass, and food.

Careful now, you might be accused of being reasonable.

But I do like your line of thinking--we'll help out...if you help us out in return.

No offense but TLV relief is going to be more expensive than just scope given that the trend is already favoring mainline flying...and no I'm not advocating we ignore scope. I understand many among could careless about time off and would fly everyday if they could but work rules are just as important as other areas of the contract. The company consciously dragged its feet on adequate staffing and I'm tired of selling efficiencies on the cheap. There was a time when pilots had pay, scope, and work rules. I'm done trading 1 for 1 in this environment.

The TLV is already so high it's virtually ineffective. If I wanted to be worked like a mule I would have stayed at the regionals.
