You should never pay someone to do something with your money that you could not do yourself or that you don't understand. If you just don't enjoy investing and want to free up some time then you should pay someone, but always know exactly what they are doing. I love it when a "financial advisor" rolls up in his 1998 Honda Civic dressed in wrinkled Dockers and goes on to tell me I don't understand how to invest so I should pay him to "manage" my money for me. |
Some brainiacs did a study from 1996 - 2006 and figured out only .6% of fund managers were able to beat the performance of indexes.
In our 401k, Delta offers an S&P 500 index fund with an expense ratio of .03% and a Bond Index fund of .06%. Very inexpensive. Start out your career with 80% in the S&P index and 20% in the Bond Index. Rebalance every year and work your way to 60% / 40% by the time you retire. Otherwise, do your best to forget about it. It's when you make it more complicated that you will start losing serious money. I spend all the time I've freed up by thinking about a nymphomaniac zombie cheerleader apocalypse. |
Where can I find a pilot's phone/email in iCrew? I figure it out once but can't get there again.

Delta has already seen it coming - they were experiementing with fares similar to Spirit with a corresponding reduction in benefits (no seat assignment, no upgrades, etc) last year and were actually only out of DTW to, you guessed it, Spirit destinations.
Part of the service re-branding is Basic Economy: Basic Economy | Delta Air Lines |
Thanks for the information and insight guys..

That is about 2% of that industry. The other 98% have no clue what they are doing except trying to sell you an insurance policy, annuity, or mutual fund with a high sales charge. |

Found my W2. Apparently they mailed it to me and I stuffed it into the "taxes" folder, where it managed to lodge itself deeply between dry cleaning receipts and random 1099s. User error.
