Compensation shouldn't be optional, conditional or dependent upon. Carve outs like Profit Sharing that can be advantaged by a select few deprive us all of a Southwest paycheck and it's time to fix that. Now this is off topic a little but for Humbolt and all those who have to bear the added expense of the LA domicile or NYC I would be amenable to a form of COLA like I had during my Navy career based in Hawaii. This would be to my way of thinking, additional compensation which levels the playing field for members who domicile in a high cost Zip Code. |

How do you pay a COLA to a NY based pilot who lives in say NJ? Ask the FEDEX club how that worked out for the cola's they were paying to their China branch.... some were fired when the company contended that their family actually resided in the states. If I live in PHX and commute to LAX for work, would I still get the COLA? If I live in LAX but commute to SLC for a better seniority, do I get the COLA? See the issue? |

I would like to have Out of Base Swap with the Swap Board so pilots that need to drop a trip have a better chance of doing so when reserve coverage is low.
I also want Out of Base White Slip to have a priority over in base reserve like the pre bankruptcy contract did so pilots that want to increase their productivity can do so voluntarily. But you've got the right guy anyway. I make no secret of it, though that's the way the games played here. |

I advocate for comprehensive compensation reform. Its a haystack and there are no sacred needles. I believe that fairness is a principle not just a good idea. We should all be advocates for fair compensation that provides every single recipient the means to financial security and prosperity. |
Seniority is currency. You invest it however you want. Your pay is also currency, and decide to live where want. That makes NYC junior, because it's expensive. That's the leveling mechanism.
We don't need COLA to level out the bases, but then we also need to respect the bases by not trying to pilfer flying through mechanisms like OOBS+SWF, which punish those who pay (dearly) to live near expensive bases. It's absolutely outrageous for a guy who commutes to a junior expensive base to decide he needs to be paid more, then try to syphon the flying via OOBS+SWF. There are probably a few New York expressions to describe these sorts of shenanigans. Nonetheless, I'm willing to keep an open mind, and be paid for the hardship of maintaining my primary residence within driving distance of one of the most expensive cities in the nation, if not the world. I think COL is probably near 2X ATL. I'm willing to settle for about 1.75X as much as an ATL pilot, who can be paid about 1.75X as much as a pilot who lived in rural Arkansas. TIC, of course. |

The last paragraph is TIC, of course. Here are some basic principles of behavior that are not TIC, of course: 1). If you want access to my base's flying, you must bid it. 2). If you like my base as it is, bid it. 3). If you don't like my base as it is, don't bid it. 4). If you bid my base voluntarily, don't whine about factors that were known in advance. |

None of your posts prior to this mention anything about white slips. If you didn't have another account how did Timbo know who you are?
