Now...LAX is a whole different can of worms, because they don't have as many positions available out there. If they had all the same equipment based there, as in NYC, and if they had to cover 3 airports (do they still cover only 2?) it might go as junior as NYC. Timbo, I don't think LAX will go as junior as NYC - at least not until the military pulls out of SOCAL like they did in SFO. And contrary to what I see occasionally posted here plenty of new hire FOs want to get LAX based. The reason is that there are a ton of military guys who have already establish themselves in this area prior to getting hired by DAL. With North Island, Miramar, March ARB, Pt Mugu NAS, Edwards AFB etc there are plenty of guys to feed the LAX base. Now do these guys want to stay here for there whole careers retire and pay CA state income tax in retirement? That is a whole different question. Scoop :) PS - Still covering three airports but ONT trips are very very rare. Mostly LAX with some SNA for ER guys only. |
Rumor: ALPA is constructively engaged with management and as a result pilots may be included in the 3% raises going to all Delta employees on April 1st.
That would be a nice little goodwill gesture just before contract negotiations open and it would also reduce by 3% the headline number coming out at the conclusion of those negotiations. Front load and camouflage some of our pay restoration. Sounds like a smart move (if true). |

Oh...and...The Yankees still SUCK! :D |
It's still a yellow card foul if you come on here and complain you need more money because you live in Hawaii!

Great rumor, I hope it is true. Keep in mind however we get our annual raises in JAN. Non contract have been getting theirs in April. I would hate to get 3% now and have it delay what I hope will be a much larger raise in JAN 16.

Thanks to the folks with their ski recommendations. Ended up skiing at Brighton and the canyons then went up to Daniels peak for snowmobiling. A compressed good time. Made some reservations for lodging, but then cancelled them when a friend said he'd be "upset" if we didn't stay with him (sweet). We were lucky with great weather, but the snow was only good. Shout out for polygamy porter...I never saw any moose drool in the store.

No reason this should cause any delay. The amendable date would remain unchanged. If this rumor is true it would just be a down payment on C2015 and a way to reduce the "shock value" for Wall St and the other employee groups when we announce the pay increase associated with C2015. (which I expect to be substantial). |
Saying a prayer for 1Lt Muath al-Kasaesbeh and his loved ones.
