Sorry, was aiming for sarcasm. I found complaining about reserves yellow slipping a bit funny.

Ok, got a green slip after I was full for the month on reserve. I have two payback days, figured out how to put in a pcs request to use them next month. In terms of actually getting that request approved (which I didn't) can I only use them on blue days? Cause there ain't blue days next month. In other words, is it the same as a PD?

Yes, it is the same as a PD.

NYC 717 FO will never get to use their PB days

Don't worry, they'll eventually convert to vacation days and you'll get a whole 3:30/day for them. [emoji35]

Took the phone poll yesterday. Seemed fair and balanced. Asked about priorities and how firm you were on them. Also asked about the CO's main goals and if you were flexible on acquiescing. Didn't get the feeling they were trying to push an agenda like the previous admin. Lots of how we doing questions too.

Which begs the question, what then?

Assuming you never get to use your PB days, they turn into supplemental vacation for the next year. One tip to get rid of them if that's what you prefer, is make sure you have your bid in on the 20th 0700 PCS run for the following month. Even though all days might be show black, on the 1st run there may be a small window of time where through swaps your day turns into a blue day.

Although I know I didn't get my full potential for the PB days I'm quite happy to get 23 days off in a row while my kids are off on summer break this year after less than just 2 years on property. The supplemental vacation must touch a block of "standard" vacation, and it is your choice if they go in front or the back of the vacation. Even though I was bottom 15% of the list when I bid vacation I was able to get a little bit of time at the end of summer. Then I was able to pile my PB days at the front giving my family the opportunity to take a nice relaxing vacation without trying to cram it right up to the day school resumes.

I've heard (not tried myself) that you can also use your APD for this. If you've got your APD & are willing to burn it for some pay, you could go that route to use your PB days as... well, payback days....

When reserve availability is 10 required, 1 available, I don't think you can use your APD. Life as NYC 717B!
