I always will take the FA jumpseat. However, the said pilot should ask me ? I might not know there is another jump seater.

No guarantees. You could be bumped by someone with a higher priority (FAA, working LCA ...)

Hoping someone can help me out with a GS question here.

Situation: 3-day GS. Day two was to be a DH to LGA (Delta Connection flight), then two legs with layover in LGA. Day three was supposed to be a DH back to domicile and done.

On day two the DH (RJ) flight was canceled. No more flights out to LGA until 6.5 hours later. The captain calls crew tracking and they tell him to get the DH leg to JFK and for me to DH to ATL and I'm done.

I just looked at my schedule and time card and it shows as a two day and GS pay for 10:30 for pay.

Am I wrong in thinking the GS should still show 15:45 as it did originally?

Thanks,
GG

When is that new microsoft surface supposed to hit the line? When I was in training last summer they seemed to indicate it would be 1st quarter of 16 but I haven't heard a peep.

Nope. GS only pay double for the portion that you actually fly. The day three that you originally were going to pay will be paid out at straight pay and credit, and the first two will be double pay/no credit (assuming you are a regular lineholder).

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but that is longtime practice and contractually it is legal.

Yes, regular line holder.

Follow up question from your comment "The day three that you originally were going to pay will be paid out at straight pay and credit, and the first two will be double pay/no credit (assuming you are a regular lineholder)."

My time card shows 15:45 for sked time for the trip and pay of 10:30.
G/Slip Pay: 10:30

To me that means 10:30 of GS pay. But your comment makes me wonder if you're saying I am entitled to the third day of straight pay for the scheduled day that was canceled. I'm guessing not and that I am just reading your comment wrong.

You are indeed entitled to single pay and credit for the day scheduled but not flown. It sometimes takes a day or two for the time card to catch up.
