Help me out here. In both the DPA and ALPA contract surveys over 90% of the Delta pilots want to keep or increase our profit sharing.

Why are reps in the crew room initiating conversation about reducing it?

To me it looks like they are going to disregard us and do another end around.

Am I wrong??

Jerry

Jerry,

I don't know. If you know survey results you know a whole lot more than me.

Not to be unhelpful, I've just not heard what you have.

Would you give up hotels on the overnights? No? Not even for ONE MILLION DOLLARS PER YEAR?!?!?!?!

There is no way the company is going to try and roll back or eliminate profit sharing just so they can give us the same or more. If they move to do this (and it seems highly likely they will try) they will be attempting to save money, one way or the other. Why else would they want to do it?

Does anyone really think we're going to get full value immortal "locked in" raises, in addition to whatever other raises we were going to get, and they will survive a 6-10B per year swing that wipes out all profits and even puts us into the red? Why would the company want that over the current system?

If we touch PS it needs to be a separate issue so we can see what we're truly going to get for it. Yet I bet they won't be interested in that in the first place. The real value in trading away PS is in moving so many things around that our "big raise" helps pay for itself.

Exactly!!

If we give it up you can plan on another this is a victory sales job. Let's hope they follow the survey and the overwhelming will of the body.

Yeah, please don't "monetize" anything for us. Just negotiate an "out of the ballpark," contract that focuses on pay rates and tweaking a few odds and ends like vacation and training pay.

Just forget that anyone said anything about profit sharing, please.

No, my man, their process started the day we approved C12. (Well, after their hangover wore off, anyway). Heck, it probably started the day the merger was announced. RA plays chess.

Why do you pretend to know management's timeline, when you clearly don't? Why do you spend so much effort lowering our expectations?

Could all this talk of profit sharing be a false flag/red herring to distract us from a raid on sick leave? I know certain senior LCA pilots think we as a group are "abusing" sick leave. If our own side thinks this you can imagine what the 4th floor thinks.

Purple Drank 01-28-2015 11:51 AM

True.

And let's not forget the AF/KLM violation on 1 March. The company would love to bury that in C15.

ALPA will be filing a grievance that day, right?

I need to call the ATL CA rep and get his story. He is on a trip at the moment but the last time I talked with him it sure did not match what you are saying. Who you talked to at the some sort of meet and greet would be much more informative. You can PM it to me if you don't want to post it. I assume you have the name because if I heard a ALPA rep making those kinds of statements or trial balloons I would damn sure have gotten their names and taken things to a higher level. They are not supposed to be floating anything.

I posted this last week. I was starting a trip and posted it from the crewroom as I headed out to C concourse. I saw three alpa or DALPA lanyards on three notln uniform older guys at that moment. I did not see the FO rep. I guess I could identify them looking at pics but then again... Older white guy doesn't narrow it down much.

I dumped my bag over by the circular tables and was headed back to get it and go on. I was there long enough to catch that the conversation was about PS, so then I stayed for a minute or two and went on.

And then an emphatic explanation of why raise is better using the %s from C12 and jokingly said we've established it's for sale just how much. I was just listening in. Amused.

My point is this selling PS is much more than Internet fodder.

It is and so is sick leave. Anyone who thinks these two items are internet fodder is being naive. You can also throw split duty periods in there.
