Not just the actual days of work missed.

Example.

You call in sick the day before a four day trip. (Sunday)
The trip, 4 days, is Mon-Thur.

You forget or don't call in well until the following Sunday. (Regardless of when really well).

So, instead of counting that as one sick call at four days missed (lost) work, the company counts it as 7 days out sick.

That's the short of it.... So when DAL says we use more sick time, it's flawed. I forgot to call in well because it's a new system for me. Now my missed work log (whatever it's called, either in iCrew or PAS) shows me out 12 days even though I only was out for a 3 day trip. So to the company it looks like I used 4 times the amount of SK I actually used.

I think I said on this forum the last time we went the rounds on sick leave that I suspected this is what they were doing. They have three metrics they can use.

1. Number of sick calls
2. Number of hours paid from sick bank
3. Total number of sick days

The way they track sick days would be the only way I can see our pilot group using 25% more than our peers. (although I do believe that a lot of Delta pilots use it because we will lose it, but not 25% more)

Be nice if ALPA would let us know what they are looking at when they throw the 25% number out there. So far nobody has told us what that means so really it is a worthless number in my book.

Bro, you seem to be treating this thread as your personal journal. Could you imagine what would happen if each of us listed several options for ourselves here? You didn't even ask a question.

YGTBFSM! (if you are being serious...pretty harsh)

Purple,

He is putting out very good information. While he did personalize it to his specific situation we can all learn from it. In my opinion - no harm done, keep the info flowing.

Scoop :)

Personally, I'm looking forward to FtB's satire on this.

Sleepy Ed will be sawing logs with those any of those ALPA candidates on the board.

Didn't scrappy completely ignore input from the MEC for C12 and 117 negotiations? O'Malley? Farmer? The entrenched, unelected junta that has no intention of living under the work rules and pay they enable.

Well, first things first. I demand second break and 1+45 of rest at a minimum, or 1/3, whichever is higher?

They have told us.

Great. I guess I should have attended every LEC meeting to get the info. I have never seen a contract awareness bulletin or any such communication from ALPA or the company that states how they track sick leave. Maybe there has been one and I missed it though. I sure do hear a lot about how we use more than everyone else though.

Why won't the company put the data of sick usage from our peers with what we use and how they compare us in one of their communications that states we use way more than everyone else? Seems that would most likely silence all the critics if it is true and based just on sick bank hour usage.

Ok yall... I know I'm a bit slow at times, but I can't for the life of me find the confirmed for less/even less stuff on travelnet. Can someone point me in the right direction on where to find it?
