I obviously wont mention any names(because it is not official), but I can assure you they are looking at changing it..I agree, we gave up something to get what we have now, and I hope they don't try to change it...I am hearing ALPA is willing to give it up for something in return because they say it only affects a small % of pilots. But in reality it affects all FO's. I hope if they try to change it all FO's say no way, and vote accordingly.

I've heard the same. Including from an LCA who said he heard it from RA himself. My impression they weren't looking to put it under the old system where you basically went to reserve (recovery?). Instead I think they were looking at forecasting, basically figuring how much training in a month. Once they figured a given LCA would have 3 of 4 trips be IOE, they'd pull those trips. As in, once A sched complete, those trips wouldn't even be available to be assigned to Bs.

Wow. That wouldn't screw people at all. If you have a senior LCA in category (which is, what, every category?) the good trips are gone.

No trip buy, AND no access to good trips. Two steps back, none forward.

I agree. Hopefully all fo's will vote no if anything changes. The junior fo's will be senior soon and wish we still had the current format. Huge concession.

It would be foolish to think this affects only FO's. Look at how senior WB FO's are relative to junior captains. Then again, it would be equally foolish to assume this is where things are headed, based on the rumor of a company ask.

Senior, as in super senior. I've gotten them before but they are rare in the new hire aircraft unless you are very senior. Some FOs get to enjoy a great schedule as a result; others just get to bid for the LCAs and see disappointment when The results come out. My guess is, if you're in the top 10% of your category you enjoy this part of the contract on a consistent basis. Otherwise, it's a rare bonus.

Pathetic that the company is looking to change the policy on OE displacements. My old regional (skyw) had a better policy on this than what we even have now. If you were pending being displaced from a trip for training, they HAD to fully release you at 36 hours prior to sign in. Furthermore, if they had a trip to assign you in its place, it had to fully fit inside the time confines of the original trip. We should be looking to pattern bargain "up" to our regional partner's policy on this one. The DL bean counters need to stop trying to squeeze every stinking half pence out of our a $$ es.

I can't believe that we have to show up to be released...what about commuters? This rule is stone age.

Baja.

It sounds like the sytem you mention allowed replacement flying. I suspect the company would be happy to go back to that. It sounds like bargaining down not up.

Not even the commuters, I've seen FO's scheduled for 2 DH's to a layover, only to be told, 2 days after sign in, all the way across the country, 'oh, you can just go home, you're released'. Nice. How much did those unsold seats cost the company? The LCA's have way too much sway in this scenario. There needs to be a solid policy that applies to everyone, every time. It's not like there won't be a lot of this going on for the next umpteen years...

This had better not end up being a TA where every percent raise is costed out via a concession. I'd much rather just stick with what we've got if the rumors are true.
