It is dumb. I think after the reconfig and galley removal they hold 149/160. That's a lot of pax. More pax than your brahs at SWA.

Minor point. AAL has zero band 1 aircraft- 747/380. But the "pay band shift" you are describing is a real issue. Esp on the small jet side of the equation. AAL contract to me looks like DAL +7%, crap work rules, no Profit Sharing and small jets shifting to "smaller." Not good. Pay banding in general I feel strongly both ways. OFG

What's the damn hurry to get a contract? Last time we got one in 8 weeks and the company went on a spending spree, hence we left money on the table. Write your reps, no concessions. Best environment for us in my 30 years here. Record profits, record retirements, profit sharing. Time to get some.

THIS is some funny stuff man! I'm not sure if Bender is TSquare... IMO, Bender is about 200% more foolish, anti-pilot/pro-company-coffers than TSquare seemed. I can't make it through a single post from BR without reallly thinking he's someone hired by union-busting consultant to prepare the battlefield and break all pilot opposition.

From the latest email I got from DALPA, a change to FAA wait times for self-medication. Both of these items are what most folks take for a cough or allergy/runny nose thing... If I have to wait 60 hours for the one and 48 hours for the other now, it will literally double the amount of times I will have to call in sick--even if I might be pretty much "on the mend" and getting over my symptoms, I'd still not be legal to fly for 2.5 days! Who stops taking cough medicine when trying to get better for a trip, 2 days prior???

This is kind of a big thing, surprised I didn't see anyone discussing it?

"The wait time from taking diphenhydramine, the active ingredient in many cold and allergy products including Benadryl, has changed from 12 hours to 60 hours. The wait time for taking dextromethorphan, the active ingredient in many cough medications, has increased to 48 hours.

Wait time is defined as the time from when you last take the medication until you engage in ANY activities pertaining to flight, such as flight planning or pre-flight inspection. "

I was reading some FAA stuff regarding this and most medications. Their take is one must wait 5x the half-life of the med. That is, if your med says take every 4-6 hours, then 5x6 hours must pass before flight duties. This general rule was for medications not approved for flight duties. And even these require proof that side effects don't happen.

Too lazy to look it up as I self medicate with an IPA.

This is a rough one. I know that on layovers if sick mid-trip I might have been tempted to take one or the other to get me through the night and home the next day, now, not so much!!

Flamebait aside, don't flatter yourself ace. If you are successful in your quest to get dALPA decertified, it is a huge feather on your resume for your other union busting job. Probably get a room in the C suite for it to boot. No Carl, you are as transparent to me as the window I am looking out of right now. You will be exposed in due time for who you really are which is no friend of pilots OR labor in general.
