I use them all the time on long flights. Generally they correspond to turbulent areas on the aloft charts. So you have strength of bumps and altitude. I look at it compared to our route on the aloft chart and if it's near us, I plot it on rte 2. Smooth ride when everyone is sleeping is my goal.

You probably don't do your TPS reports either...I've been waiting on those.

I thought the same thing. Even downwind, 20nm should be more than enough.

And on those strong jetstream days, don't forget to stay 150-200+ miles clear of clouds.

I request the latest TP's when I enter a new geographical area (Europe, NA, Eastern Canada ...) I plot them if it looks like we'll go through them. This process, however, can take a good 10 minutes.

If they uplinked to Route 2 -- and only the ones affecting your route -- a lot more guys would use them.

Someday

It was like 2am and my wife wakes me up. At that moment, I didn't who she was.

She said it was Delta. I had no idea who that was either.

She said it was scheduling. This isn't getting any better.

Then I don't know what I said. My wife the next day said she was listening to me talk and felt like saying "WAKE UP! WAKE UP!"

He mentioned a green slip. So I told him didn't I just pick up a 2 day white slip? he said no. And he was right. I have no idea why I said that.

He told me it was a green slip. I said okay.

And I'm not sure what happened next. Or how it ended. But I did do the trip.

For the record, I don't drink. And I never will.
Same category as you FTB; I think your dazed and confused state left a mark, which explains why when I got my GS call at a similar hour the scheduler, after telling me who was calling and why, quickly added, "I'll give you a moment to gather yourself. Please let me know when you're ready to hear what I have to say." Huh? Did I sound that out of it when I answered? Oh, yeah, I must have because I meant to let that go to voicemail.

WSJ: Oil Futures Signal Weak Prices Could Last for Years

Bigger profits headed our way, unless of course our "smart" people found a way to lock in paying 50% more for fuel than we otherwise would.

With the bankruptcy history behind us and how much Delta pilots gave up, how anyone can justify taking so little when the company is so flush is bewildering.

On my plane, the thunderstorm at the departure airport is standing next to the storm on my route which is connected to the one sitting on top of my destination. Short routes.

My TPS reports were rejected because of my cover sheet.
