As to your little personal slap at the end, I suggest a course in reading comprehension. I've not ever clammed up, though some seem to wish I would. Apparently my presence makes their community here uncomfortable...

I take it by the green Chesire cat smile you are joking, but seriously though, the more views and opinions we are all exposed to, the better informed we all become.

Good point. The post 2007 DAL-N pilots get a pure 1.5% increase in their DC.
The Professor's long post made a very salient point. We are negotiating on how to split up a pie that we don't get to cook. If we really want to see true gains we need to get our hands on the revenue stream. ACL brought this up with the JAL JV. If we give our support we should get a piece of the revenue, not the profit.
Prof is right, we are not like other employee groups. We are the only union, for now. We are also unique to the operation. No revenue can be generated without pilots. It's time we change the paradigm.

I was kind of enjoying the new latest and greatest.

I don't think management needs your help in arguing their side. Maybe you should consider arguing our side for a change?
But is the operation not the generation of revenue? Our organization and numbers make us unique. No other group of employees has the ability to stop the revenue stream. The ticket sellers, gate agents, mx, and accountants aren't going to band together and shut down the machine. A few individuals might think they are worth more but individuals can be replaced. Isn't that the whole idea of a union?
Not saying that it would be easy or even possible, but taking the same ol'e pie and cutting it into different pieces is not going to advance our total compensation.

Plus you can keep up with this thread a lot easier during those 3 hour productivity sits.

I argue our side all the time, but I choose to make rational arguments, not emotional ones. Emotional ones feel good for a short time but generally don't produce desired results. I would assume you'd want to make the most effective argument, not the pandering argument wouldn't you?

While this is only one of several data streams available to collect and process the sentiment and will of the pilot group, it is one that allows interaction; which can be valuable.
That interaction with our MEC and LEC leadership on here is even more illuminating and helpful when that interaction is not delivered with an incessantly condescending tone.
We are all on the same team. Typically people complain because they are dissatisfied and may not have the 'big' picture. Some percentage will always complain. However, sometimes the complaints are based in fact and have great merit.
Education is the success of great communication. Persuasion is something you use in a bar on Friday night. Or layover...
