Hot off the press in an e-mail from the MEM CP to MEM pilots:

Advanced Entitlement (AE): Look for the first combined bid sometime in December.

Thank you for all the good info.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

Does anyone know if SLC 767 will converted to ER? Like LAX and CVG? And when?
Thx

Let the angst begin.

I know I should let it go, but the APA system was SO much better. It eliminates the stress of this AE crap.

Agreed. Back in the day, before the APA, NWA had the APE (Advanced Position ENTITLEMENT). It worked very similar to the AE. We finally got rid of it, and here's hoping the same eventually happens at DAL.

I have never heard of any stress over the AE process. The stress is over where the company is going to move aircraft time to and from. How exactly does the APA system reduce that stress?

It doesn't leave you hanging. The APA award is effective four months out, period. Once you received it, you knew when you would be in training and when you would start collecting the paycheck. It allowed you to plan your bid around family events, vacations, etc., and really helped in terms of financial planning.

Doesn't it also operate a lot more efficiently for management in preparing a furlough?

Probably. At NWA, everyone about to be furloughed got displaced to DC-9 reserve, then shown the door prior to training.

If you have been in training all month you are credited time so your raw will not be Zero! It shouldn't be unless you have been sitting on your duff.

If you beleive that we will not get "new" airplanes for four years, I have real estate in FL to see ya.

Also, define "New"

Yes BCFLC has a bunch of 330's
There are also about 17 777's that will need to find a home too.

SOC will be signed on the 16th at the earliest. It cannot be signed before all of the DAL-N guys do that phase two training. Ever wonder why it is due in the middle of the month at 2359? Dots people, dots.
