Fly confirmed for less/even less

Guys,

Thinking of buying my wife a confirmed ticket to CUN. Both less and even less fares are available - what is the difference besides cost? Any gothcha's with these tickets? Dates are firm as we are meeting people.

I plan on jump-seating on the same flight. Any issues with a JS to CUN from LAX?

Thanks Scoop

Who is the Chief Pilot for the MSP base? Is it Gordon Goss?

The confirmed for less is refundable and you can change the flights without penalty. The confirmed for even less are is usually a few bucks cheaper but non-refundable. You get 2 free checked bags with both.

Even though the FCFEL is never refundable, the FCFL isn't always refundable. You have to inquire with Delta about each particular ticket, since the link to tell you the fare rules is always broken (at least the last several times I've clicked on it over the last couple years).

You don't generate sky miles credit on FCFEL but do on FCFL.

And when you call someone ... they won't know if it's refundable either. It's a foreign language. I always buy FCFEL and make the travel dates set in stone.

Can someone help me with some bidding advice? I am a new hire NYC MD88B (seat locked until next Fall). I would like to be in either MSP or SLC (on any plane).

What should my AE bid look like? How will the seat lock affect me since there are no MD88 based in SLC?

You can bid to any M88 base regardless of seat lock. However, SLC isn't a realistic option until May 2017 per the deferred implementation MOU.

That being said, put your SLC preferences in on the AE template (above MSP) in the extremely unlikely event the company decides to let you out of your seat lock.

You have a one year seat lock on the 88. You can bid to any other base that has 88's. I would also bid SLC as your first choice since crew Skeds can release a seat lock. That's unlikely however if you don't ask you won't get.
