Guess we have to convince our own pilots before we can convince mgt. Couldn't convince him.

I had a captain tell me the same thing before contract 2012. I was complaining. He told me that a normal work week for me was a 4 day worth 21 hours. He said if I didn't like it, I am probably in the wrong profession. He thought our vacation was just fine. Now I don't complain about anything in the cockpit.

Don't you just love guys like that? Always advancing the profession and trying to raise the bar.

What ever happened to trips touching? What are you willing to give up for that?

Riddle me this...Annual CQ includes 1 hr pre-brief, 4 hr box time and 30 min debrief. Why doesn't it pay 5+30?

You must know somebody, my CQ's are 90 minutes of briefing, not 60!:D

But I agree, it's a 6 hour scheduled training event with 10X the amount of 'problems' any line trip ever threw at you, and if you stub your toe, you are in hot water, so it should pay 6 hours!

As a 1985 new hire, I had several Captains try to justify me being on the B Scale while they got a raise...

Then a day or two later, they would pull out the pictures of their new boat/lake house/third wife.

My January schedule has 12 days of vacation, 3 days of recurrent and 7 days of reserve. That's a total of 8 days off (not counting the paid vacation). That's ludicrous. The vacation isn't worth sh*t. I had 24 days off between my October and November lines.

I'm not sure what you expect? It's not as though you fly boxes...you fly people, man!

Did you bid recurrent on your days off? How much is that schedule paying?
