Yes, and a half dozen "H" as well.

Auto Acknowledge/Auto Accept

Quick question:
I am flying all day tomorrow and have in a GS for the next day. If I select auto acknowledge and auto accept I assume that any green slip I get that fits my parameters will be awarded and acknowledged and it is mine. What happens if I only select Auto Acknowledge? Will it hold the trip on my line until I land and let me decide to accept or not, or will the system pass me by and move to the next pilot when it does not hear from me in the accept window?

Thanks

You need to review ALPA Scheduling Alert 21-06 complete with multiple examples on how the auto alert and auto acknowledge work..... too many permutations to give accurate answers.

If they can’t cover it with a reserve the trip must be returned to the original base and covered via the trip coverage ladder. This is a clear violation of the contract and probably the one I see happen most often. Whoever should have been awarded the trip in the original base should be paid. Submit it to ALPA. The trip coverage sequence is section 23N.
This happens often because the scheduler must manually rebuild the trip to move it. They then find out the reserves they thought they had are illegal or otherwise unavailable. At this point they are supposed to rebuild the trip again and move it back but it’s much less workload to simply cover it in the base it now resides with a white or greenslip.

thanks SF for the explanation. Schedulers do this all the time to reserves and it will be nice to use the ace app and ‘big data’ to our advantage for once.

My upcoming trip has training on it and I assume I’ll be getting bought off. Does it pay out as pay and credit or pay no credit?

BOS base

I heard rumors of potentially opening BOS back up as a base pre-COVID for the 319/20/21. Any talk of that happening in the near future?

It was far more than a rumor. It was openly discussed in print from company sources and we were told to expect it on the next AE. Then you know what happened.

There was then, and is now, more than enough flying to justify a base. However that flying is scattered, smothered, covered, chunked, topped and diced over every redundant BES in the system to reduce every second of trip credit etc. The 88/90 leaving helped a little, however the 220 is still finding its footing as a new fleet type and the 717's fate can only be found on a greased Ouija board in the back seat of a roller coaster.

Eventually? Probably. Soon? No one knows. No one.

To add to Gloopy’s response, they had already hired the BOS Chief pilot and he was about to start shadowing the JFK chief pilot for a couple of months, Massport had started some early demo to make room for new offices, etc.

Appreciate it! Good to know it was more than rumor and steps were being taken to open BOS.
