Does anyone know how many days after a MD you’re eligible for a paid move?

An eligible pilot will not be reimbursed for expenses that are: 1) incurred:
or 2)
a) prior to the awarding of the VD or MD that created his eligibility for relocation benefits or the issuance of a recall from furlough letter, or
b) while the pilot is on medical leave, personal leave, military leave, disciplinary suspension, furlough or receiving benefits under the D&S Plan,
submitted to Relocation Services more than 60days from the date the expense was
incurred.
If both the pilot and spouse are eligible pilots, relocation benefits will be reimbursed for the family as a unit, unless the pilot and spouse are maintaining separate permanent residences.
A pilot who has not signed and submitted a Standard Repayment Agreement will not receive relocation benefits (including the Company-arranged movement of household goods or vehicles).
pilot will forfeit his existing eligibility for relocation benefits if he:
does not relocate his permanent residence within 24 months (excluding time from date of furlough to the earlier of his date of recall or date of recall bypass) of the conversion pursuant to the award or recall that entitled him to such relocation benefits, or
prior to relocating he:
1) is awarded a position at his former base,
2) becomes eligible for relocation benefits again under Section 6 A. 2.,or
3) retires, dies or is terminated.

How many pilots are in NYC as a whole? Thank you.

Currently there are 227 73N FOs in NYC. The whole base has 2142 pilots.

About 220 now dropping to ~170 after everyone converts from the past 2 AEs

about 2,100 pilots as a whole, (projected to grow to ~2300 over the next few months) it is our second largest base after ATL.

I'm a new york based pilot at American, where there are 110 737 FOs.

I wonder whether I'd be better off in a pool of 220 pilots versus 110. Are bigger bases generally better for trip quality, seniority, etc?

if you don’t live near NYC our trips are garbage right now, if you do you probably still won’t like them. Early starts and later releases on 2-3 day trips are pretty common. I think 5% of our trips are commutable for next month (both a 1030 sign in or later and a 1900 release or earlier)

220 pilots is a fluke right now due to us absolutely bungling up our staffing. ( for reference we only have ~115 737 CAs in NYC) It will probably settle around 150 or so based on CA staffing.

I will add that our staffing is a crap shoot right now but I think we will always have a solid presence in NYC. I know AA has been shrinking there. With that said AAs retirement numbers blow ours out of the water, jumping ship could cost you years of seniority.

NYC is and (I suspect) always will be the best base for seniority at Delta.

Trip quality is another matter however. If you live there, it might not be so bad, but I’ll let others weigh in who are currently based there.

thanks. yes i can stand reserve from home for all NYC bases. I've been at American for a couple years but am wondering if an offer from Delta would be a "tweener" or a no brainer.

if that’s the case then our NYC base would probably work ok for you. But the seniority/longevity would be something you would have to decide for yourself if it is worth it.
