Got NOOP'd tonight and trying to submit a recovery slip for part of my original trip. iCrew says this...

23K ENCROACHMENT OR NOT ON RECOVERY ROSTER

The portion of my trip I'm trying to pick back up isn't until Saturday, is that the issue? Never had a 23k before so new to this one.

Call scheduling and ask if you have a recovery obligation…you very well may not.

I am not sure I would call. Put in a regular WS or GS per your preferences. Run the trip you want through the rules auditor. If you do have a 23k obligation you are free of that 6 hours after scheduled report and free to do anything you want. With the current mess in scheduling there is a chance they won’t get around to assigning you recovery before the window ends. If you call they may tag you on the spot. The gotcha is that if not assigned flying prior to the original report you must be promptly available during that 6 hours.

Edit: If this was a cancelled flight due to IRops you have a 23k obligation.

It was, east coast wx put the kibosh on things.

Reading through 23k stuff, is the baller move to now attempt to GS something for triple pay?

I would, just be aware you can’t be awarded a trip until the 6 hour promptly available window has passed. Put it in anyway in case they coded things wrong.

Anyone know if the standard reserve rules apply when attempting to use banked payback days? For example: February 7ERB PBS reserve rule is 4-99-4. Assuming there is adequate reserve coverage for the day I’m attempting to drop, can I request to drop a day of reserve in the middle of a 5 day block of reserve duty?

Yes. I use that technique whenever I can to avoid five day trips. Hate them.

The 330/350 fleet captain accidentally went NQ and requires a requal syllabus. If that doesn’t sum up our pandemic operation, I don’t know what does. We didn’t just mess up pilot manning…we cut to the bone everywhere and I sure hope management recognizes it isn’t sustainable or the “new normal”.

Known crewmember and alcohol

Sorry for the left field question. If I purchase bottles of liquor at Duty Free on my first leg to a foreign destination, will I have a problem at known crew member with those bottles in my suitcase after my domestic layover?
