That’s awesome, BOS as a domicile would be perfect.

The first delta executive that finally admits that safety is not their number one goal will forever have my respect and admiration. I’m looking at you VP of flight operations. Sheesh. That email was a crock.

What's sad is they said they attempted to incorporate changes into the November bid package. The November bid package is by far the worst I've seen in my category all year.

The solution is to be super senior. Now back to rowing, junior fatigue-peasants!

Out of curiosity I pulled up said QCQ lesson, apparently the offending slide did get pulled down. Anybody read it? What did it recommend? There is a discussion on WorkSpace, the OP's post got pulled down by admin, commenters are outraged and the company's response is the typical corporate doublespeak that our VP Flt Ops put in his memo.

So, what was on that slide that got pulled?

That’s the million dollar question. The justification in the memo was bad. Those rest numbers are still just bad.

It showed an example PBS bid to help mitigate fatigue. Avoid duty longer than 10 hrs, avoid 4 leg days, avoid long sits, etc. When said strategy was applied to almost every narrow body category for Nov it yielded very few pairing and basically said only the top ten bidders could effectively avoid fatigue.

The slide recommends avoid pairings if:
Any duty duration > 10:00
Any duty legs > 3 legs
Any layover duration < 11:00
Any sit length > 2:30
Total legs in first duty > 2 legs
Total legs in last duty > 2 legs
Pairing length > 4 days

Makes you wonder - should a pilot find herself on a trip where the first three conditions are met, does that warrant a call at the beginning of the day stating that she's unfit to complete the day as scheduled because Delta has deemed it unsafe and fatiguing?
