Reserve heads up: You are full when you hit reserve guarantee.

Twice in the last couple months, scheduling has thrown a SC on my schedule after I hit guarantee trying to pull a fast one. It's crap that they are doing that, so watch them on it!

You, Sir, have been put at the top of my Do Not Fly List!

:D

Well deserved! :D

Unfortunately, in adding me to the list, you crashed our entire res system. All DL flights in the lower 48 are now ground stopped.

Just how many pilots do not want to fly with you?

So that is what imploded the Delta IT system tonight.

Funny how life is so different in an overstaffed category. Not sure I've hit 50 hours, even in the summer months. Im a local, so the neighbors just think I'm a stay at home dad.

I doubt they were trying to pull a fast one. Just a inept overworked scheduler trying to fill holes. Your name would not have come up on the trip coverage list since you were full so they gained zero value showing you as a shortcall.

Do we really care if it was intentional? The result was an illegal (per the contract) assignment. Delta prides itself on serving the customer. Who is the customer of crew scheduling? Rationalizing and excusing doesn't make it OK.

It's BS. Some folks will completely change their schedule to be in position or legal for the short call not knowing any better. Some may even commute in. It should not be assigned.

I agree with you but as a guy who lives in base this makes me wonder. If I were to fill up and then be given an trip, could I grieve that trip as an inverse assignment and be given single pay above guarantee and PB days? I haven't had the opportunity to fly a GS since the xmas holiday time frame, might this be a back door to a little premium flying?
