Management figures very few pilots will call in fatigued, and the ones that do, they will just send out an occasional ws or gs to cover it.. Until a larger percentage of pilots rightfully call in fatigued, nothing will change.. That should be obvious to everyone at this point.

Exactly. Not advocating for a fatigue out, but if you are fatigued, call it. And with the rotations we’ve been seeing, people are kidding themselves at times if they think they aren’t.

I haven’t been on reserve for a long, long time. Quick question for those in the know.

If you get a GS on 3 X days, can you request where they place your 3 payback days or is it automatically the next available 3 Res days that become new X days?

Thx,
Humboldt

The latter.

Real question. What if people arent fatiguing out more because of fear from having too many? Like how many times can a pilot call out before they start trying to discipline them?

I do t know if there’s a number to that, I would ha e to look it up. But the recent MOU says history will not be considered on fitness review boards. Honestly I think it’s a pride thing mostly.

I've called in fatigued a few times over the years. The company's attitude toward fatigue calls has changed for the better. The first time I called in fatigue in 2015, I would call the response flat out intimidation, though unsuccessful. Now they just tell you what happens next and send you an email with link to fatigue form. Calling in fatigue has turned into a no questions asked, non-event. You default to pay. One of mine was a pre-rotation call due to reroutes on prior rotation. They were back-to-back. The fatigue review board ended up docking my sick bank, but it didn't count towards look-back.

Our extension rules of always assuming we were good to go was flat out bending the regulation if not breaking it. I'm pretty sure the FAA slapped the company and forced it us to become more fatigue call friendly.

First and only call required is to duty pilot. The duty pilot is not a chief pilot for those of you that don't know. It's usually a first officer with chief pilot aspirations.

If you’re at Endeavor, you would know better than us. If you aren’t at Endeavor now, you don’t qualify for the flow even if you become employed at Endeavor.
