I have not noticed the issue either. The agents seem to understand that payload optimized simply means wait to board non revs last after load planning gives the OK. Generally the non revs still get on a optimized flight. I have had only one flight this year where we could not make it work.

Better look again, it is the new way to "Optimize" revenue from N/R's. Planes are leaving with empty seats and N/R's behind. (As of 01/14.) Load planning does not care to deal with it.

Can you give us a flight number to look into? Is it possible they were in fact at the limit?

Sure, 694- ATL/RTB, left one seat open, if they can sharp-shoot gross weight to 250 lbs. my hat is off to them.

I'm not a commuter so not up to speed on protocol but I showed up to gate 14 mins prior to departure with plane sitting there(our metal) and gate agent wouldn't let me jumpseat and said too late flight closed out. I was trying to deviate on an earlier flight to go home an hour earlier. Guidance?

Just curious.

Was the j/s available? If so, were you able to list for the j/s on iCrew prior to reaching the gate. If not, were you listed as a non-rev on this earlier flight, or was your boarding dependent on the agent listing you too?

Not sure about the "14mins prior", but if the agent had already "closed the flight" then he/she had submitted final numbers to load planning. Honestly, not sure what the CSA's policy states about opening a flight again to get non-rev passengers on.

could be wrong but i think the cutoff for the j/s is 15 min

What fleet are these problems arising on? Haven't had the issue arise yet on mine.

Becoming more common on the 320 with new interior. Full load with flight time between 2-3 hour with alt fuel required. Landing weight limited.

Zone 3 DH again. Delta metal. What's up with this?

You're allowed to board with zone 1.

Of course. Just trying to avoid the deer-in-the-headlights from the agent.
