Scheduling question -
If next month is my anniversary month and I have a spill over trip that I want to APD will that be this year’s or next year’s?
Thanks!

Don’t exactly know the technical answer to your question, however, APDs reset the first of the month that contains your anniversary. So, I would drop a single day APD on a date in the bid before your anniversary month that way it shows on the schedule in the prior month. That should drop the entire trip yet use the current year’s APD instead of next year’s.
Clear as mud?

You could also call ALPA and/or scheduling if you want a real answer .

I am not 100% but I'll give you my armchair QB answer to this question. APD the 1st day of the trip this month, it will drop the entire trip and the APD should hit this year instead of next. That said, does it really matter which year the APD is in? Why worry about saving next year's APD when you never used this year's? Get your anniversary off and have a good time. You've also got 2 IVDs next year in addition to your APD.

Just got the CJO, so following this thread a lot closer now. Sorry for my lack of knowledge, but what is the APD you guys are speaking of, and how does it work? Sounds like a day off at your anniversary with Delta or something from what has been said.
If the company has 20% (??) of the required reserve manning you can use your APD to drop 1 trip per year, except for certain designated holidays. It's use or lose and resets on your date of hire. A PD, or personal drop works the same way except you have no limit on their use but reserve manning must be 100% or greater. My 20% number might be a little off but close enough to get the gist of what an APD is.
Oh, by the way, the APD is time off without pay. You cannot pick up a different trip over a day/s covered by an APD.
Welcome!
Denny
Heard about a trick to drop only the 1st day of a trip with the APD (entire trip still drops), then you can pick up on the rest of the days if needed.
