Deviating from deadhead at the end of my trip (last leg of trip is a deadhead).
Question...when can I book my positive space seat on another flight? Can I do that right away? Or do I have to wait until I sign in for the trip? Just worried there won’t be any seats left if I wait.

Anytime after rotation report.
A total of 1 commutable trip for all of Sept! Between the awful schedules and not backfilling, are they trying to kill off NYC 717??

Hi,
I'm currently a 17 years in service Air Force 707 pilot that is hoping to get hired by Delta at 20 years when I exit the service. I'm currently residing in the Atlanta area, so Delta is a very appealing option for me since I would not have to move. I'm looking at getting a A320 rating with ATPflightschool. It would be covered under the GI Bill, so it's just a matter of taking some leave for me.
I know there are other factors like making sure there are no errors in the application process and being ready for the interview. With that being said, would an A320 rating at least be somewhat helpful in the hiring process?
Thanks in advance

From: I got into this business so I wouldn't have to work.
Complete waste of money. If you're a regular guy with an internal recommendation you're extremely competitive, roughly half of DALs new hires are military and almost none have a type rating for a plane in DAL's fleet. And even if you did happen to already have a type it wouldn't matter, your initial training would be the same as the guy who didn't.
Mr. Solo is correct. All you need is an ATP. Use your GI bill to get one if you were unfortunate enough to not do it before the rules changed a few years ago. Also, have you considered PALACE FRONT or PALACE CHASE to get into a reserve unit to fill your 20 years and apply, like, I don't know...NOW?
Seniority is everything in this business. If you wait, you lose. You might consider getting a guard or reserve TR job, while applying to Delta, then get on the line a bit, done with consolidation and probation, then go on mil leave for full-time orders to finish out your 20. I know, Delta hates that, but it's doable from your (and your family's) perspective. Meanwhile, you hold a line number and it goes up as people retire.
Just a thought.
