A message for pilots sitting reserve. Be where you are supposed to be. If you're on long call be available in 12 hours. If on shortcall be promptly available. You’re not screwing the company when you don’t honor your obligation. You’re screwing your fellow pilots.

What’s with you and name calling? Were you bullied in high school?

alright, can you explain how your two friends got screwed? Coming on an anonymous board and saying it doesn't make it so. Details please.

I’d be interested in hearing about this, too. How were they “screwed,” Sailing? Was the PWA not complied with?
More important than that however is when the company perceives it as a problem they seek remediation through contract negotiations and can back their need up with documentation. Sick leave is a prime example. |
Not Sailingfun but I'd guess some guys that were on shortcall/longcall were not within the contractual response time (probably by a long shot) and his buds got called out in their place. Hence the screwing another pilot comment.

When you should not be the pilot flying a trip but they have to move down to you because the pilot who contractually was supposed to get the trip was not available you’re getting screwed.
