Follow that up with watching "The Pacific," if you haven't already, since that mini-series is those two books plus some Manila John Basilone.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Are non-seniority list pilots allowed to conduct our Customer Acceptance Flights? If not, there could be a problem with our latest 220 delivery...

My understanding is it’s allowed. The plane isn’t Delta’s till the money changes hands, and that is after the customer acceptance flight.

Customer Acceptance or delivery? There is a difference, not that JL or anybody else on the 4th floor has read section 1...

Maybe the original posted Who has this info on the flights in question should contact the union so they can look into it...

I really wonder why non Delta pilots are allowed to perform Delta acceptance flights? Does anyone else see the problem with this? There’s that family culture right there they preach ain’t it..rules of the road and all...gmafb,..it’s sleazy and slimy from our ‘Top Men’...whether contractually allowed or not.

I hope that DALPA is given the heads up and looks into it.

What makes the optics even worse is that they’re furloughing 80% of the 220Bs while this is going on.

Are they allowed to? I thought we had this issue years ago with the 350 and won a grievance? Am I mistaken?

The 350 used a Delta flight number/call sign. Therefore it was a Delta flight flown by non Delta pilots. Probably not the case here.

Customer Acceptance flights are done before final “delivery.” The CA flights verify everything is in working order and then the aircraft is flown to whoever the customer wants it. These are two separate flights. Anyway, I think the consensus is the CA flights aren’t required to be flown by SL Delta pilots but the delivery flights are.
