I really get not wanting ARCOS calls at 3AM when there’s no chance you’re getting the GS, but I think the pendulum swung too far the other direction. Frustrating, as a commuter, watching it take so many hours to go through the list 1 at a time that you can no longer get there before it gets to you.

I wish more would deny the trip if they don’t want it, system can then move on quickly. Seems the majority just don’t respond.

If he’s lost currency then he’s not legal to pick up a trip...

This is so true...but as a point of ref....the batch sizes and ARCOS greatly enhanced this compared to the old....CS calls 1 person...no answer...mandatory wait of 10 minutes...move on to the next guy(if they remember to do so immediately)......no takers until 2 hours prior....and CS calls their fair haired homeboy Now is WAAAAY better than before.

Seems now we are griping about batch sizes, which can go either way depending on your perspective.

For anyone who is close to losing currency make sure you follow the FOM requirements to insure you get paid and don’t get a nasty surprise.

if you're getting bought off a trip for IOE, you still gotta show up at the airport and get released, correct?

Hopefully not, but it's up to scheduling to make the call. I've had them call me day prior and release. I've also had radio silence from scheduling, and when I called they said they wouldn't release me because of "Weather". Last instance the LCA, on his own goodwill, called them and had me released. Had the LCA not taken it upon himself, I would have commuted in, been released, and been worthless to fly for 10 hours....

And to add one other reason why it's hit or miss......they are paying you for the trip anyway, therefore if the FO no shows or calls in short notice sick.....they have you at the airport (as a ready reserve for that trip) at sign in. IOW, the schedulers have everything to lose and nothing to gain by letting you off the hook early.

I agree, it sucks.....might throw that into the next PWA as a very low cost item?.....sounds reasonable to me!

Correct, but I gave them 17 days of availability to get currency which also included a rotation during which I got one landing. I was over WS limits and unsuccessful at GS.

If you’re referring to Recency Status and Alerts, yes, complied with.
