The long sits are heinous and suck the life out of you. I wrote my reps that we need some kind of sit pay. I believe AAL has something like this. 1 for 2 over 2 hours. Sit for 3 hours get a hard 30 minutes over rotation guarantee. Sit for 4 hours get 1 hour. This would disincentive long sits and hopefully make them a rare exception.

This would also make it a lot harder for the company to work around the trip rig as they currently do with 8 + block hour days mixed in with minimal or even no flying days.

This technique works very well. Also if you're scheduled for just under 5 hr sit and get in early you can call and get a hotel. Just being able to hit a gym or lie down for 30 mins does wonders for your energy levels during those long sits.

Or you could just shove a burrito down your gullet and spend 3 hours on APC.

So far all of mine have not required a call, just was on my schedule.

The long sits seemed to really spike in the middle of 2020 when our was limited. It was huge to have a place to go and get out of the uniform and catch a nap.

Anybody have info on the Secure act of 2019 stating you can take up to $5000 withdrawal from your 401k for the birth of a child penalty free?
